Actor Ryu Soo-young from 'Eunam Teacher' is astonished by the bizarre overseas cuisines.
In the first episode of T-Cast E Channel's 'Ryu School Eunam (abbreviated Ryu School)', which airs today (17th), Ryu Soo-young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Ki Hyun, who traveled to Porto, Portugal, are shocked after tasting the ultimate local 'cod dish.'
In the first episode of 'Ryu School Eunam', Ryu Soo-young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Ki Hyun, who came to Porto for culinary study, visit a restaurant to try the city's representative ingredient, bacalhau (salted cod). Yoon Kyung-ho, who did some research on bacalhau, noted, "(A friend) said it was too salty to eat because it's usually heavily salted," expressing his concern. The first dish served was 'carpaccio,' a salad topped with half-dried bacalhau. After taking a bite, Yoon Kyung-ho commented, "I expected a fermented taste like fermented skate, but it's not at all. It's fascinating."
After that, a variety of dishes featuring bacalhau, which reportedly has over a thousand cooking methods, were served. Among them, Ryu Soo-young enjoyed the flavor of bacalhau grilled with port wine, describing it as "the taste of grilled yellow corvina without spiciness." Additionally, Ki Hyun was astonished by the brass-style bacalhau dish served with sliced potatoes, saying, "It smells like the entrance of ○○ria." Ryu Soo-young rated the dish as "a menu that can't taste bad" and displayed a genuine reaction after taking a bite.
Finally, a dish with an unfamiliar appearance, unlike any bacalhau seen before, was presented. The flavor was distinctly saltier compared to previous dishes, causing Ki Hyun to exclaim, "It tastes like it naturally makes double eyelids." The three brothers proposed various ingredients such as cod 'belly' and 'skin.' However, the answer turned out to be 'cod's tongue,' causing surprise. The traditional Porto-style 'cod tongue' dish reportedly used an astonishing eight tongues in one serving, earning the love of food enthusiasts. Ryu Soo-young exclaimed, "A kiss with the cod!" eliciting laughter.
The food world tour of Ryu Soo-young, Yoon Kyung-ho, and Ki Hyun, known as 'the food-savvy three brothers', presented by TAE KWANG CORPORATION's media affiliate T-Cast, will premiere on E Channel on Saturday, the 17th, at 5:20 p.m. It will also be available later on Netflix, Wavve, TVING, and Watcha.
