"24 Hour Health Club" has risen to become a must-visit restaurant following the Deukgeun dining spot.
KBS 2TV's Wednesday-Thursday drama "24 Hour Health Club" (directed by Park Jun-soo and Choi Yeon-soo, written by Kim Ji-soo) is receiving a hot response for its enjoyable "muscle flirting" and its story oscillating between comedy and romance. In particular, the epilogues that conclude each episode are an essential highlight, intricately portraying the emotions of Dohyun-jung (Lee Jun-young) and Jeong Eun-ji, thereby enhancing the immersion of the drama. After concluding the sixth episode, which marked a turning point, highlights of thrilling epilogue scenes that stimulated excitement were revisited on the 17th (today).
Episode 1: Hyun-jung's refreshing retort towards Mi-ran's ex-boyfriend
Hyun-jung, who was handing out flyers at the gym, coincidentally witnessed Mi-ran being dumped by Yeom Jun-seok (Jung Wook-jin). He blocked Jun-seok's path and retorted, "Aren't you unable to stand alone? You should just speak directly instead of making up excuses about others," delivering a refreshing comeback. The sight of Hyun-jung looking at Mi-ran with gentle eyes instead of a bright gaze captivated viewers' hearts right from the first broadcast.
Episode 2: Hyun-jung♥Mi-ran, the moment of preparing a date look(?)
Hyun-jung agreed to Mi-ran's request to attend her ex-boyfriend's wedding together. Since it was an important day for Mi-ran, Hyun-jung's indecision while choosing a date outfit triggered excitement among viewers. Particularly, his antics of tearing his shirt because it didn't allow for a wide range of movement brought laughter. Moreover, it was touching to realize later that, despite the back being completely torn, he didn't mind and wrapped Mi-ran in his outerwear.
Episode 3: Hyun-jung's heavy footsteps toward the gym 'You live in that gym'
Hyun-jung headed to rival Roy's (Kim Kwon) gym to find Mi-ran, who was not attending the 24 Hour Health Club. Watching Mi-ran train with Roy from a distance stirred feelings of jealousy in him as he recited lines parodying the song "You Live in That House" by Park Jin-young, which elicited laughter. As the song resonated in his heart, the sight of Hyun-jung humming and slightly swaying seemed like a response to Mi-ran's song longing for him, increasing the enjoyment for viewers at home.
Episode 4: Hyun-jung and Mi-ran find themselves alone at the gym in the middle of the night! "I got caught. Danyang candy"
Drunk, Hyun-jung firmly grabbed Mi-ran's wrist as she attempted to secretly leave the gym. It seemed a peculiar atmosphere was forming as sparks flew between the two, but soon Hyun-jung revealed the hidden Danyang candy Mi-ran had and said, "I got caught." He might have answered Mi-ran's unspoken feelings by pretending to sleep and commenting, "If I just keep my mouth shut, everything's fine." His consideration to ease Mi-ran's embarrassment sparked the audience's imagination about their situation.
Episode 5: Hyun-jung apologizing to Mi-ran! But the heartfelt words he couldn't convey to Mi-ran
Tired from unintended parenting, Hyun-jung related the quarrel with Mi-ran to a lack of stamina and wanted to apologize to her. However, exhausted from parenting, he unknowingly fell asleep, sending an incomplete and unintended message saying, "I'm sorry, member." His tendency to attribute emotional disputes to fatigue raised expectations for future romantic moments between the two.
Episode 6: Seong-im clears the obstacles in Hyun-jung and Mi-ran's relationship
The reappearance of Jun-seok, who had put Mi-ran in a daze, attracted attention. Mi-ran realized her breakup wounds were still fresh and sobbed as she collapsed onto the floor, while Jun-seok secretly watched her in a suspicious outfit. However, Im Seong-im (Park Seong-yeon), who was oblivious to Hyun-jung and Mi-ran's relationship, scolded him, saying, "Who are you to spy on a woman? What a pervert," providing a satisfying moment. Although Hyun-jung wasn't present, the removal of elements that obstructed Hyun-jung and Mi-ran's relationship through Seong-im heightened the immersion.
In this way, the epilogues of "24 Hour Health Club" serve as an important device, not just as simple scenes, but as a means to deeply showcase the emotional narratives of the characters. In relation to this, the production team noted, "By watching until the epilogue, viewers can experience the narrative of Hyun-jung and Mi-ran with even more excitement. In particular, viewing parts 1-5 through Hyun-jung's perspective makes it even more interesting," adding, "There are scenes prepared in future epilogues that reveal feelings that Hyun-jung and Mi-ran don't even recognize, so please check them out in the main broadcast."
