Lee Kyung-sil opened up about the auction of an APT. in Ichon-dong, Yongsan.
On the 16th, Lee Kyung-sil said, "I'll get to the conclusion first. It's been resolved. I apologize to everyone who couldn't ask and was surprised, curious, and worried." She published a post related to the recent news of the Ichon-dong APT. auction.
According to GGAuction, a company specializing in real estate auctions, the APT. owned by Lee Kyung-sil, located in Ichon-dong, Yongsan, Seoul, will be auctioned on the 27th at the Seoul Western District Court. The APT. is known for its high-end residential area with a view of the Han River, with a dedicated area of 293 square meters (about 89 pyeong).
Lee Kyung-sil purchased the APT. in 2007 for 1.4 billion won and is currently living there. It is speculated that the reason it is going to auction is that Lee Kyung-sil failed to repay money borrowed against the APT. The starting bid for the auction is set at 2.55 billion won, with a maximum claim of 1.8 billion won set as collateral under A's name. A filed a request for voluntary auction with the court in September last year for over 1.33 billion won. A is reportedly said to have transferred the debt to a lending company.
In response, Lee Kyung-sil wrote, "I was surprised and shocked when the article came out while I was in the midst of resolving things. My family doesn't even know... my kids, siblings, and close acquaintances were all surprised and depressed. When I shared the news that it was resolved today, some people even cried."
She continued, "Reading various messages from friends made me feel they were more worried than I was. The situation is that after not working for several years, I tried to invest somewhere to find stable income. It was fine for a few years, but things started falling apart in various ways from about three years ago, which led to this situation," and added, "My life certainly has no dull moments. I tried to resolve it before my kids found out, but now it's become known to everyone, which is really embarrassing."
She noted, "I went to Gunsan to visit my mother for a two-day shoot, and I received a morning call from a close sister. I quickly moved aside to avoid shocking my mother. Honestly, I'd like to submit a cancellation receipt, but I'm trying to hold off. I apologize and thank those who have been worried about me."
Meanwhile, Lee Kyung-sil debut as a comedian in the first MBC TV Comedy Contest in 1987, winning the gold medal. She is known for her work on shows such as "If You Smile, Blessings Will Come," and won the Comedy Award at the 1994 MBC Broadcast Awards.
Recently, she has appeared on TV Chosun's 'The Loving Man of Joseon' with her son Son Bo-seung. When Son was 23 in 2021, he announced the news of his premarital pregnancy with a non-celebrity woman, and the following year, he welcomed a son. Lee Kyung-sil had a year-long estrangement from her son but has since shown that they have reconciled.
