Paik Jong-won, chief executive of Theborn Korea, is preparing to file a defamation suit for spreading false information against the YouTube channel Studio Ojaena and director Kim Jae-hwan, who raised allegations of "broadcasting power abuse."
On the 16th, an exclusive OSEN report revealed that Paik Jong-won and Theborn Korea are preparing a defamation suit against the YouTube channel Studio Ojaena (abbreviated Ojaena) and director Kim Jae-hwan for spreading false information.
Director Kim Jae-hwan, praised for "True Taste Show," has recently continued harsh criticism of Paik Jong-won and Theborn Korea through the YouTube channel Studio Ojaena. In particular, he drew attention by emphasizing protection and coexistence for franchise brand owners under Theborn Korea amid various controversies surrounding the company.
However, even after Paik Jong-won's apology and Theborn Korea's improvement plans were made public, Kim Jae-hwan's critical videos continued. He especially raised strong "broadcasting power abuse" allegations regarding Paik Jong-won's past broadcasting activities. He claimed that Paik Jong-won used his familiarity with a PD to block a professor's appearance on a program Paik did not even appear on, and that he prevented singer Kim Ho-joong from appearing on SBS.
Regarding this, Paik Jong-won strongly denied the allegations to ChosunBiz, saying, "When appearing on a program, if a PD asks, 'Does this guest fit well?' can't you answer, 'I don't know'? Saying I blocked an appearance is something that wouldn't happen even if the head of the broadcasting company came."
Above all, Theborn Korea says that although director Kim Jae-hwan emphasized during a one-on-one interview with Paik Jong-won that he was not recording on his phone, he released part of an approximately four-hour recording file on YouTube and in the process spread false information, and the company is preparing a related response.
However, after Theborn Korea's preparation to file a suit became known through Ojaena, director Kim Jae-hwan reacted on Ojaena saying it was "what he wanted," effectively signaling a counterresponse. In this regard, a Theborn Korea official told OSEN, "We are currently reviewing the related matters."
