Actor Park Jin-Young, who has built a solid filmography through various works, is showcasing a new side in 'Hi-Five'.
On the 15th, the film 'Hi-Five' (directed by Kang Hyung-Cheol, provided/distributed by NEW, produced by Annapurna Film) unveiled stills of Park Jin-Young.
Park Jin-Young, who has established himself as a leading acting idol through consistent acting activities, is taking on his first villain role in 'Hi-Five'. 'Hi-Five' is a comic action drama depicting the story of five individuals who accidentally gain different supernatural powers through organ transplants and meet those who seek to exploit their abilities.
Park Jin-Young, who began acting with 'Dream High 2', showcased his delicate emotional acting in 'Yumi's Cells Season 2', captivating the hearts of viewers, and delivered a remarkable performance playing dual roles in the film 'Christmas Carol', earning the Rookie Actor Awards at the Baeksang Arts Awards and the Korea Film Critics Association Awards. Recently, he proved his strong acting skills once again in the aired 'The Witch', receiving praise, and now joins the film 'Hi-Five', hinting at a fierce villain's emergence.
After receiving a pancreas transplant and gaining the supernatural ability to absorb youth, the cult leader 'Young-Chun' erases his powerless past before death and is reborn. After acquiring his powers, 'Young-Chun', who only dreamed of 'eternity', learns about the existence of other organ transplant recipients and sets out to find them in order to monopolize all supernatural abilities.
"The script was so interesting that there was no reason not to participate," said Park Jin-Young, revealing the reason for joining the project. Regarding his first challenge in playing a villain, he noted, "It was a character where I could act diversely from an actor's perspective, which I really liked." For the role of 'Young-Chun', Park Jin-Young dedicated himself to meticulous design of speech and gestures, as well as training his body to express the ability of youth and unrestrained action. Director Kang Hyung-Cheol remarked, "He is an incredibly hardworking actor. He prepared diligently as if he was born for the role of 'Young-Chun', creating it in his own style and performed it wonderfully," raising expectations for Park Jin-Young's transformation in acting.
'Hi-Five' is set to be released in theaters on the 30th.
