The Netflix series "The Square" has released family stills of "Ju-Woon."
Having severed his Achilles' heel and left the Square world, "Gi-Joon" returns after 11 years due to the death of his brother "Gi-Seok," the organization's second-in-command, to uncover the truth behind his death in the noir action "The Square."
The two main organizations in the world of "The Square" are "Ju-Woon" and "Bong-San." The released stills feature four characters entangled with "Ju-Woon," raising curiosity about the various incidents that will unfold surrounding "Ju-Woon." First, the still of "Lee Ju-Woon" (Heo Joon-Ho), the head of the "Ju-Woon" organization, standing with a stern expression at the funeral of "Nam Gi-Seok" (Lee Joon-Hyuk), catches the eye. As "Lee Ju-Woon" cherished "Nam Gi-Seok," the successor of "Ju-Woon" and as if he were his own son, curiosity heightens regarding how "Lee Ju-Woon" will act after "Nam Gi-Seok's" death. In particular, Heo Joon-Ho, who has exuded a strong presence in various works such as the Netflix series "Kingdom," "Hunting Dogs," the drama "Buried Hearts," and the film "Mogadishu," is expected to express the charisma of a leader perfectly with his meticulous inner acting, maximizing immersion.
Similarly, the appearance of "Lee Geum-Soon" (Choo Young-Woo) and "Choi Sung-Cheol" (Jo Han-Cheol) at the funeral is also striking. Unlike his father, "Lee Ju-Woon," who has led the organization for his entire life, "Lee Geum-Soon" is a character who walks his own path without being part of the organization. Choo Young-Woo, who showcased his solid acting skills by winning the Male Rookie Acting Award in the broadcasting category at the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards through recent roles in the Netflix series "The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call" and the drama "The Tale of Lady Ok," plays the role of "Lee Geum-Soon," who harbors his own ambitions as a current prosecutor before being the son of "Lee Ju-Woon." The cold portrayal that Choo Young-Woo will deliver heightens the anticipation for his new acting transformation.
"Choi Sung-Cheol," the loyal right-hand man carrying out duties closest to "Lee Ju-Woon," is portrayed by Jo Han-Cheol, who has shown solid acting skills through various characters in the Netflix film "Day of Reckoning," "Rokey One," the Netflix series "Gyeongseong Creature" Season 1, and the drama "Spring of Youth." As "Choi Sung-Cheol" stabilizes the organization thrown into chaos by "Nam Gi-Joon's" return and takes risks to manage the situation, he will drive the unpredictable story by uncovering various incidents happening in the Square world.
"Nam Gi-Seok," with a meaningful expression, hints at unsettling events occurring with his gaze, exuding a strong presence. After his brother "Nam Gi-Joon" left the Square, "Nam Gi-Seok" grew "Ju-Woon" into corporations and rose to the second-in-command but met a mysterious attack leading to his death, igniting all the chaos. His secret narrative reveals how and why "Nam Gi-Seok" was attacked, showcasing the diverse charm through Lee Joon-Hyuk's delicate performance, who is making a significant presence through dramas such as "Love Scout" and "Good or Bad Dong-Jae." Thus, "The Square" is set to draw viewers completely into the bloodless and tearless world of the Square through the collaboration of trustworthy and heartwarming actors like Heo Joon-Ho, Choo Young-Woo, Jo Han-Cheol, and Lee Joon-Hyuk, and the diverse character stories completed by their performances.
"The Square," expected to deliver a bloody ensemble created by uniquely talented actors, is set to premiere on June 6 (Friday) at 4 p.m. exclusively on Netflix.
