Rapper Sik-K, who reported himself to the police for drug use, is set to perform at a festival ahead of his appeal trial.
The organizers of 'WATERBOMB SEOUL 2025' recently revealed their lineup, announcing that Sik-K will take the stage on July 4 at KINTEX. Other performers include EXO's Kai, Kep1er, Kwon Eun-bi, Chung-ha, Baekho, Crush, Gray, 2NE1, Loco, and Kiss of Life grants.
The issue is Sik-K's grants. Sik-K has been indicted for allegedly using ketamine and ecstasy from October 1 to October 9, 2023. He is also facing charges for smoking cannabis on January 11 and possessing cannabis on January 13 of the same year.
At that time, he told police officers working near the Seoul Veterans Affairs Office in Yongsan, Seoul, that he intended to confess to drug use, and he was subjected to police investigation. The National Forensic Service's detailed examination revealed a positive reaction for methamphetamine, and prosecutors indicted him in June of the previous year without detention.
Sik-K's legal representative noted that Sik-K expressed his intention to confess to drug use due to delirium following surgery, while denying the methamphetamine use. In response, prosecutors sought a prison sentence of 3 years and 6 months during the trial.
On the 1st, Director General Ma Seong-young of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced Sik-K to 10 months in prison with a 2-year probation for violating the Act on the Control of Narcotics (cannabis) and other charges. The court also ordered Sik-K to undergo probation and attend 40 hours of drug treatment lectures.
Sik-K said, "I have never felt so ashamed. I would deeply reflect and if given the opportunity to repay my family and company officials, I would sincerely repent and live on."
Nevertheless, prosecutors have submitted an appeal. With the trial not yet concluded, there are mixed reactions among fans regarding Sik-K's grants at 'WATERBOMB SEOUL 2025.'
