Actor Hyeon Bong-sik explained about the character in 'Nine Puzzle'.
On the 14th, a production presentation for Disney+ 'Nine Puzzle' was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Jongno, Seoul. The event was hosted by Park Kyung-rim, and attendees included Kim Da-mi, Son Suk-ku, Kim Seong-kyun, Hyeon Bong-sik, and director Yoon Jong-bin.
'Nine Puzzle' is a mystery thriller that uncovers the secrets of a reinvigorated serial murder case with puzzling pieces, centering on 'Ina' (Kim Da-mi), the only witness to an unsolved case 10 years ago and a current profiler, and the fierce detective 'Han-sem' (Son Suk-ku), who continues to suspect her as a suspect.
Hyeon Bong-sik took on the role of the youngest detective 'Choi San' in the violent crimes unit 2 of the Seoul Han River Police Station. Hyeon Bong-sik said, "I found the script engaging, and I was delighted to be offered the role of 'the youngest detective' after always being the leader."
He continued about his character, saying, "He is a detective overflowing with MZ power. I want to be a cool detective who catches violent criminals, but in reality, I'm just a typical youngest who only watches CCTV. I also want to maintain a work-life balance," adding, "Since it's called MZ, both Seong-kyun and the director have advised me to keep my usual self, and I worked hard to do that."
Son Suk-ku, who worked with Hyeon Bong-sik in the previous project 'D.P', expressed his thoughts on meeting as the youngest detective, saying, "It's cute," and added, "While in the military, it made me realize I had to do well. You never know how things might change when you come back to society. I think he might have also realized that. I'm wondering if he's trying to behave cuter to make up for it." He laughed.
Meanwhile, 'Nine Puzzle' will be released on the 21st via Disney+.
