In the program 'Mungchyeoya Chanda 4,' actor Lee Ji-hoon, a 'football scholarship student' who accurately places kicks all over the field, showcased a diverse charm typical of a 12-year veteran actor.
Lee Ji-hoon, who drew attention for his impressive performance in the draft of 'Mungchyeoya Chanda 4,' is said to continuously think about football even when not filming, living a life akin to that of a football player.
Lee Ji-hoon is said to be genuinely into football to the extent that he enjoys the field with his professional team even during his leisure time. "I played as an athlete until middle school. My only hobby was football, but around the age of 32, it changed to golf. While I was neglecting football for a while, I received a call from the producers of 'Mungchyeoya Chanda.' I thought I wanted to unfold my last journey in football. I'm doing my best," he said, discussing his reignited football life.
When asked if there are any members among the 'Munchan' cast that he is particularly close to or has good synergy with, Lee Ji-hoon said, "Soo-gyeom comes to mind first. He is the center back of the same team. I also have great synergy with Seung-woo and Seung-hoon. I am trying hard to develop the team while continuously communicating. It has not been long since we started. I'm in the process of figuring out what areas we need to improve on by matching up with the other members," heightening expectations for the chemistry with his teammates in the future.
There was also a conversation about Director Kim Nam-il. Lee Ji-hoon recalled his first impression of Director Kim, saying, "He is a gentle and warm person. Initially, I thought he would be a scary figure. I was actually worried about that, but when I met him, he was truly a warm person. Although he tends to be blunt, you can feel the deep consideration he has for those around him in every word he speaks," he gave an unexpected answer.
There was also a discussion about how Lee Ji-hoon chose the path of acting after retiring as a football player. He shared, "I actually didn't have a dream. I attended a physical education college before enlisting. While in the military, I thought that being a physical education teacher did not seem like my path. During my leave, I watched the musical 'Lee Soon-shin' and thought that acting would make me really happy."
As a 12-year veteran actor, Lee Ji-hoon also shared his thoughts on his works. When asked about his feelings towards 'Royal Loader,' which was released last year, and 'APT.' which premiered at the beginning of this year, Lee Ji-hoon recalled, "For 'Royal Loader,' the producer mentioned it was a special appearance, but when I actually filmed it, the role was quite substantial. I had a great time shooting it. I was also happy that 'APT.' received a positive response."
Lee Ji-hoon also offered insights about himself as an actor. He noted, "I think I look rather plain myself. That's why I can handle a variety of roles. I believe that both good and bad energies exist in my eyes." When asked about roles he would like to take on in the future, he immediately expressed, "I want to take on a villain role. I would like to play a pure evil character, like 'The Joker,' without a sad backstory. I think a psychopath role would also be interesting," he showed enthusiasm.
