Actor Kim Ye-ryeong revealed that she has undergone three general anesthesia surgeries over the past three years.
On the 13th, TV Chosun's 'Healthy House' featured guest actor Kim Ye-ryeong who participated in the discussion.
On that day, Kim Ye-ryeong said, "These days, I'm preparing for the next drama while managing my health, and above all, I'm deeply immersed in the joy of watching my grandchildren grow up," which drew attention.
Kim Ye-ryeong's daughter, Kim Soo-hyun, married former baseball player Yoon Seok-min in 2017 and they have two sons. Kim Ye-ryeong reportedly has a sibling-like relationship with her son-in-law Yoon Seok-min.
Kim Ye-ryeong's appearance did not suggest any health problems at all. When asked what concerns led her to participate, she said, "I used to be really confident about my health. However, as I went beyond my mid-50s, my body started to change. I have a family history of a weak stomach. So as I developed gastritis and esophagitis, my digestion became poor, and I felt a burning sensation in my stomach and tightness in my chest."
Kim Ye-ryeong said, "So when I went to the hospital, they said it was due to inflammation. They advised me to manage the inflammation. I didn't worry too much since the medication made me feel better. However, it came back as something serious."
She revealed, "Over the past three years, I underwent general anesthesia surgeries once a year. I was aware of a gastric submucosal tumor that was previously present, but it suddenly grew larger. Six months later, a cyst was found on my ovary. The scariest part was that the ovary is said to be similar to pancreatic cancer. Fortunately, it was discovered early and I underwent laparoscopic surgery."
Kim Ye-ryeong said, "After that, they found something on my thyroid during the tests, which turned out to be thyroid cancer. I underwent a scan 10 days after the surgery. It was a scene where I was supposed to scream, but my voice wouldn't come out. My voice was cracking, which made me upset when I saw comments saying, 'What's up with her voice?'"
