Director Yun Jong-bin of 'Nine Puzzles' shared his interaction with the actors.
On the 14th, a production conference for Disney+ 'Nine Puzzles' was held at JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square in Seoul's Jongno District. Park Kyung-rim hosted the event, which was attended by actors Kim Da-mi, Son Suk-ku, Kim Sung-kyun, Hyun Bong-sik, and director Yun Jong-bin.
'Nine Puzzles' is a mystery thriller that unravels the secrets of a serial murder case that has restarted, involving 'Ina' (Kim Da-mi), the sole witness to an unsolved case from 10 years ago and a current profiler, and detective 'Han-sem' (Son Suk-ku), who continues to suspect him.
'Nine Puzzles' is the latest work by director Yun Jong-bin, who previously directed the films 'The Age of Shadows' and 'A Violent Prosecutor' and the Netflix original series 'Suriname,' drawing increased interest.
On that day, Director Yun explained, "Essentially, 'Nine Puzzles' is a mystery play. It tells the story of two distinctly characterized individuals uncovering the hidden truths behind the serial murder and its mastermind."
In particular, he confessed about his interactions with the actors, saying, "Personally, I often have meals with the actors when working on a project and have discussions. I prefer to create chemistry this way, but it was difficult this time."
He continued, "Neither actor Suk-ku nor actor Bong-sik can drink, and actor Da-mi is an introvert. It was really hard to have meetings, which made it quite challenging for me as well. So, we mainly communicated through KakaoTalk. Actor Da-mi also asked many questions through chat, and I replied a lot. Actor Bong-sik also asked questions mainly through KakaoTalk. We primarily built chemistry through KakaoTalk," he said, drawing laughter.
Meanwhile, 'Nine Puzzles' will be released through Disney+ on the 21st.
