"Trot Jewel" Yeom Yu-ri has become the face of Cheongju.
Yeom was appointed as a promotional ambassador for Cheongju at a ceremony held on the 13th in the temporary city hall's Jikji Hall. For the next two years, she will represent Cheongju and participate in major events while promoting key city policies domestically and internationally.
Yeom stated, "I have always kept the landscapes and warmth of Cheongju in my heart. Now, I want to proudly share and promote my hometown Cheongju with more people. I want to get closer to the citizens of Cheongju."
Yeom was born in Cheongju, spent her school years there, and majored in vocal music in college. Throughout the competition on "Miss Trot 3," she was undoubtedly the center of attention and loved by many. With her visuals, powerful high notes, and technique, she caught people's eyes, earning her the nickname "Trot Jewel." Last year, she showcased her charming persona with her first trot single, "Love at First Sight," establishing a solid presence.
Cheongju Mayor Lee Beom-seok expressed his expectations regarding Yeom Yu-ri's appointment as a promotional ambassador, stating, "As an outstanding singer from Cheongju, I have high hopes for her future activities. I hope she will help spread the word about the changing Cheongju even more widely."
