The band Hwano (김리다, 유환주, 슈가킴, 이강산), which means "black hibiscus singing at night," will release their new single "Action" today at 6 p.m.
The new song "Action" originated from the band's desire to breathe intuitively with the audience on stage and share the energy of the music in real-time. In particular, guitarist 김리다's encounter with an "yawning audience" at a past festival left a significant impact on him, and that experience was the catalyst for creating a composition characterized by relentless intensity and fast tempo.
"Action," featuring a rough texture and a straight sound over traditional rock progressions, is a track that captures the primal raw energy of a rock band rather than the elegant sounds based on Orientalism that have been prevalent.
Additionally, the developments maintain a sense of tension within a simple structure, reflecting the band's commitment to pursuing "great music" and showcasing the essence of direct rock sound.
Furthermore, a live clip promotion composed of actual fan videos will be carried out to embody the philosophy of enjoying music with the audience. This initiative aims to vividly capture the band's passion on stage and further narrow the distance between them and the audience.
Ahead of the release, a teaser video featuring the new drummer 이강산, which was unveiled alongside his joining the band, garnered a strong reaction. The band, showcased in formal attire against a vibrant red backdrop, exuded a sophisticated and concise charm, drawing attention as a visual message signaling Hwano's new beginning.
"Action" is the first song released by Hwano after being selected for Ruby Records' rookie discovery program "2025 Label Pick," attracting interest from both inside and outside the industry. Hwano has announced various activities with Ruby Records going forward, and they are expected to hold a single release commemorative fan meeting showcase at Club Ruby Salon on Saturday, the 24th.
