Singer G-Dragon confessed to his close friend Jeong Hyung Don that he had asked to be connected by phone during his military service.
In the web entertainment program "Jeong Hyung Don's Titleless TV," released on YouTube on the 13th, G-Dragon appeared as a guest.
G-Dragon and Jeong Hyung Don received a great response after meeting in the past on the MBC entertainment program "Infinite Challenge" for a music festival special, showcasing their duet Heungyongdonjong. The two also reunited in a recent broadcast of MBC's "Good Day" and garnered positive reviews.
Conscious of the expectations, G-Dragon noted, "Hyung, you keep appearing in my algorithm," and said, "I think the fans and people around us like seeing us together."
G-Dragon spoke freely. When asked about a previous statement from attorney Ko Seung Woo, he retorted, "This isn't an investigation, right?" When Jeong Hyung Don joked, "You've been through quite a bit (in an investigation). You're a pro," G-Dragon responded, "Pro? I cleared up the misunderstanding." His witty wordplay drew admiration.
In fact, G-Dragon voluntarily reported to the police for questioning in November 2023 when he was suddenly embroiled in drug allegations and obtained results of "innocent" following investigations. He later featured a scene reminiscent of a Korean National Police Agency photo line in the music video for his solo single "POWER," which he released after seven years. Additionally, he drew attention for expressions such as "eokgga," "abuse of power," and "one in a hundred minefield" in his lyrics.
G-Dragon seemed to become particularly at ease in front of Jeong Hyung Don, stating, "I speak more freely when I'm with you than at other times." He added, "I'm not usually like this."
Jeong Hyung Don revealed that he received a call from G-Dragon during his military enlistment. He laughed, saying, "It was a really pathetic phone call," to which G-Dragon agreed, saying, "Life was pretty pathetic back then." Jeong Hyung Don recounted, "I remember clearly. It was on a Saturday. I had missed your call once before, and you were urgently calling 'Hyung Hyung Hyung' three or four times, asking, 'My superior is a big fan, please don't hang up, just let me hear your voice,' you sounded almost on the verge of tears."
In response to Jeong Hyung Don's comment, "I talked to a soldier for the first time because of you," G-Dragon acknowledged, saying, "In that case, it was probably not a fellow but a superior," and laughed, asking, "You remember those things too?"
Jeong Hyung Don emphasized that G-Dragon's speaking style has changed since their time on "Infinite Challenge," saying, "You've become more seasoned over the past ten years. It seems you've learned to some extent, and you're developing nicely. I hope you mature a little more." G-Dragon added, "An artist shouldn't mature too much."
