Actor Kim Hee-won, known for his wide acting spectrum, showcases a different side through "High Five." "High Five" is a comic action film depicting the story of five individuals who accidentally gain various superpowers through organ transplants as they encounter those who seek their abilities.
Kim Hee-won left a strong impression with his fierce villain role in the movie "The Man from Nowhere" and has since established himself as a trusted actor, playing characters that oscillate between good and evil in numerous works including "The Outlaws: The Bad Guys", "The Divine Move: The Key Move", "Collateral", and "Moving". He has also received public affection for his friendly charm on the variety program "House on Wheels" and has showcased his solid directing skills with critical acclaim for his directorial debut "Light Shop". He returns in the film "High Five" as the superpower user "Yak-seon" with a dual personality.
"Yak-seon" is a stern and meticulous team leader who always nags and leaves workers on construction sites feeling exhausted. Among colleagues, he is the number one person to avoid, but behind his rigid demeanor, he hides a warm heart more than anyone else. After receiving a liver transplant, "Yak-seon" gains the healing hands of a miracle worker. While quietly treating injured coworkers with his miraculous healing powers, he encounters team "High Five," who received organs and powers from the same donor, becoming embroiled in an unexpected incident. Returning as a "cool exterior, warm interior" character, Kim Hee-won expressed his affection for the project, stating, "I liked that superpower users who do not pretend to be cool appear in the story." Meanwhile, director Kang Hyung-chul noted, "Although I have played many villains, in reality, he is a very good person. I thought it would be interesting to have Kim Hee-won portray a character whose warm heart clashes with the appearance of drawing lines against others," raising expectations for Kim's performance, which will enhance the film's immersion.
Kim Hee-won's activity, which radiates a unique presence with his healing ability that heals everything, can be confirmed in theaters on May 30 (Friday) through the movie "High Five."
