The variety show "Weekly Idol," which has been beloved as a guide for all idol groups in South Korea and for idol fans around the world, is returning with a new MC and new format.
According to OSEN's report on the 13th, MBC M and MBC Every1's "Weekly Idol" will meet viewers in June after completing its renovation.
"Weekly Idol" has been MBC M's flagship variety program broadcast since July 2011. As a guide for all idol groups in South Korea and for idol fans around the world, it is a program that idols must go through before making a comeback and is popular among fans.
After finishing its broadcast in December of last year, "Weekly Idol" has entered a period of restructuring and is expected to meet viewers in a newly revamped format after a break of about six months.
The revamped "Weekly Idol" plans to expand music-centric content while maintaining its existing strengths and enhancing communication with fans. It aims to provide opportunities for interaction through music in spaces where fans can meet directly, offering a stage for idols and fans to connect more closely.
With the new format, the MCs are also changing. The new MCs of "Weekly Idol" will be MONSTA X's Minhyuk and CRAVITY's Hyungjun. Minhyuk has received praise for his witty talk and stylish hosting skills showcased in various variety shows, and Hyungjun from CRAVITY is loved for his cute appearance and unexpected charm, expected to add new vitality to the program with his unique fresh energy.
The newly reformed "Weekly Idol" will air in June on MBC M and MBC Every1.
