"Dear Hongrang" Jo Bo-ah expressed her feelings about her return after marriage.
On the morning of the 13th, a production presentation for the Netflix series "Dear Hongrang" was held in the Grand Ballroom on the 2nd floor of the Ramada Hotel in Sindorim, Guro-gu, Seoul. Attending the event were main cast members Lee Jae-wook, Jo Bo-ah, Jung Ga-ram, Uhm Ji-won, Park Byung-eun, and director Kim Hong-seon.
Based on the popular novel "Dear Hongrang: Swallowing Gold" by writer Jang Da-hye, "Dear Hongrang" is a mystery melodrama that depicts the budding, uncertain feelings between Hongrang (played by Lee Jae-wook), the son of the largest trading house in Joseon, who returns after 12 years with no memory, and his half-sister Jae-i (played by Jo Bo-ah), who is the only one doubting his identity. Directed by Kim Hong-seon, known for Netflix's "Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area" and the occult drama "The Guest" as well as the series "Voice," along with Kim Jin-ah, writer of Apple TV+'s SF thriller "Dr. Brain," the anticipation for the series is high.
Previously, Jo Bo-ah married her long-term fiancé in October of last year and was expected to return through the Disney+ series "Knock-Off" in April of this year. However, due to personal issues surrounding her co-star Kim Soo-hyun and his ex-girlfriend, late Kim Sae-ron, the release of "Knock-Off" was indefinitely postponed. With all aspects of "Knock-Off" temporarily on hold, Jo Bo-ah's return has been delayed, leading to discussions of her being the primary victim.
Jo Bo-ah began by saying, "Dear Hongrang" has had a long filming process. In a way, it feels like after a long time of post-production, we finally get to show it to you all.
With a change in her returning project, Jo Bo-ah added, "Since the work period for this project has been long, I am very nervous, very excited, and also quite worried. I hope you all look forward to it and give it a lot of love."
Meanwhile, "Dear Hongrang" will be released on Netflix worldwide in over 190 countries on the 16th.
