Chef Jung Ji-sun threw a punch at Yeomin, the son of Lu Ching Lai, on 'Dad and Me.'
The episode that aired on 13th depicted Chef Jung Ji-sun meeting Chef Lu Ching Lai and his son.
That day, Jung mentioned Yeomin's earlier comment that he had never considered his father, Lu Ching Lai, as a teacher and said, "That was too much." An embarrassed Yeomin clarified, "I never felt that sense of a teacher all this time. It's not like I ever thought of my dad as a disciple."
Jung asked, "Have you ever worked anywhere other than with your dad?" but Yeomin said he had primarily been employed based on his father's recommendations. Jung then inquired, "So did you say you were the son of Chef Lu Ching Lai to everyone?" Yeomin replied, "I didn't really think to use that to my advantage."
Jung then said, "But why are you upset about that? Do you expect everything to be done for you while you just stand there?"
Jung added, "If you have dreams, you should leverage your father. Then you wouldn't feel this disappointment. Here's a question: doesn't Chef Lu Ching Lai have many Chinese cooking techniques? Did you ever try to learn them?" When Yeomin hesitated, Jung explained, "Isn't Chef Lu known for his plate artistry? No one in South Korea has done it like that. Do you know why I went to study abroad? To learn those techniques. There weren't any academies in Korea, which is why I went all the way to China."
Then Jung advised, "But you are the closest to him. You should utilize that. There is an opportunity to learn closely. You need to see how big of an advantage that is. You should get closer to your dad. It seems like you are a little lacking in that regard."
