Singer 10CM is showing signs of more active steps after topping the music charts.
The song "Hoping to Reach You," released by 10CM in March, topped the Melon TOP100 and HOT100 online music sites as of the 13th (100 days after release).
Several artists, including Yoon Do-hyun, SEVENTEEN's DK, Davichi's Lee Hae-ri, IVE's RAY, BOYNEXTDOOR's Taesan, Jung Se-woon, and KISS OF LIFE's Ha-neul, have joined the "Hoping to Reach You" challenge wave and driven the song's popularity. Among them, the most talked-about video was the cover version by broadcaster Joo Woo-jae, which gained popularity, leading 10CM and Joo Woo-jae to perform together on the MBC show "Show! Music Core" last week.
10CM and Joo Woo-jae impressed audiences with their refreshing visuals and perfect vocal chemistry, becoming the center of attention. Shortly after the broadcast, major communities and social media exploded with responses such as, "Who would have thought we'd see this combination on Music Core," "It's like Japanese anime material," and "A romantic comic you want to keep watching and listening to." The performance video also made it to YouTube's trending content, generating explosive interest.
"Hoping to Reach You" was a song that received great love during the animation's airing, and requests for its release had been made by listeners for a long time without an official recording. Even after two months since the release of the recording, it has proven its broad support by maintaining a long run on the charts.
In addition, 10CM is expanding its activity range through a global project. On the 8th, they released their first project single, "Silver," in collaboration with TJ Monterde, a leading singer-songwriter from the Philippines, and also unveiled a music video capturing the lovely daily life of a pet dog and cat. Furthermore, they are raising expectations for global collaboration by announcing the release of the second project single on the 14th.
