Actor Gong Myoung has risen to fame as 'Lim Young-woong' in the tvN drama, signaling a hopeful start.
The first episode of the tvN drama 'Second Shot at Love' (written by Myung Soo-hyun, Jeon Ji-hyun / directed by Jang Yoo-jung / produced by Studio Dragon / produced by How Pictures), which aired on the 12th, presents a romance of a sober guardian as a woman who considered herself an ordinary drinker reunites with her first love, who hates alcohol, and challenges herself to sobriety. Gong Myoung portrays the character Seo Ui-jun, the only doctor in Bocheon village. In the first episode, the scene where Geum-joo (played by Choi Soo-young) reunites with Ui-jun (played by Gong Myoung) after returning to her hometown of Bocheon following a broken engagement due to alcohol was depicted thrillingly.
From the first episode, Ui-jun captured the attention of the residents as an indispensable presence in the village. While visiting a patient's home for house calls, Ui-jun, showing concern to an elderly person who should not work in the fields due to knee arthritis, firmly admonished that if they do not heed the doctor's advice, they cannot receive treatment. However, moments later, he personally joined in the farming work to display an endearing, tsundere charm. Particularly, his ability to spontaneously sing labor songs at the request of the elderly showcased his charming and playful appeal, captivating even the viewers.
However, while Ui-jun was kind to everyone in the village, he showed a remarkably different side to Geum-joo. When they met by chance, he greeted her with a firm handshake and said, 'It's been a while, Han Geum-joo,' and when friends asked awkwardly why they had separated, he evaded the question with a stiff smile. This contrasted sharply with the delightful high school days when they bickered playfully, sparking curiosity about what transpired between Ui-jun and Geum-joo.
Gong Myoung perfectly transformed into Seo Ui-jun, a character praised by the village for his warm appearance, kind personality, and top-notch skills. He captivated the viewers by emphasizing the 'sweet tsundere' charm that manipulated the village elders with his gentle demeanor and stable acting skills. Viewers lauded, saying, 'Only Gong Myoung can perform like this,' 'Seo Ui-jun offers healing just by being seen, and Gong Myoung is a perfect fit for the role,' 'Gong Myoung has perfected the setting of Seo Ui-jun,' and 'I'm curious about the backstory of how Ui-jun came to Bocheon.'
Meanwhile, the second episode of the tvN drama 'Second Shot at Love,' starring actor Gong Myoung, will air today (the 13th) at 8:50 p.m.
