Kim Byung-hyun's son Kim Tae-yoon made a home run-level revelation targeting his father, providing unfiltered laughter.
On the 12th (Mon), in the 7th episode of KBS2's variety show "Studying and Playing," family members from a total of seven teams participated in a role reversal quiz, including the 3MC (master of ceremonies) integration of Kang Ho-dong, Kim Ho-young, and Lee Soo-yeon, along with Kim Jung-tae and his son Kim Si-hyun (6th grade), Shin Hyun-joon and his sons Shin Min-jun (3rd grade) & Shin Ye-jun (1st grade), Kim Byung-hyun and his sons Kim Tae-yoon (5th grade) & Kim Joo-sung (2nd grade), Yang Eun-ji and her daughter Lee Ji-eum (2nd grade), Lee Ji-ae's daughter Kim Seo-a (2nd grade) & son Kim Do-yoon (preschool 1st grade), Lee Ha-jung's son Jung Si-wook (5th grade) & daughter Jung Yu-dam (preschool 1st grade), and Sam Hammington's sons William (3rd grade) & Bentley (2nd grade).
The broadcast on that day offered great laughter from the captivating dialogues and intriguing relationships of families including Kim Byung-hyun, Shin Hyun-joon, Kim Jung-tae, Yang Eun-ji, along with the newly joined Lee Ji-ae, Lee Ha-jung, and Sam Hammington families. Among them, Kim Byung-hyun expressed his surprise at Sam Hammington's sons William and Bentley's Korean names being Jung Tae-o and Jung Woo-sung, asking, "Aren't the children supposed to take their father's surname? Sam Tae-o, Sam Woo-sung," to which Kang Ho-dong quickly chimed in, "Sam is a name," eliciting a uproar from Sam Hammington who noted, "Having lived in America for several years, you don't know that?" Meanwhile, Shin Hyun-joon expressed his unique delight when Lee Ha-jung and her children appeared, saying, "I sent Ha-jung instead of Junho because I thought he wouldn't be able to do better than me," to which Lee Ha-jung's son Jung Si-wook added, "If our father had come, there would have been a chaotic 'chaos tikitaka' with Shin Hyun-joon uncle, it's a shame. When two fathers meet, they live up to their names," showcasing his eloquence and provoking more laughter.
Soon after, the full-fledged role reversal quiz began, and the sight of parents struggling with the surprising difficulty of elementary school curriculum problems, as well as children anxiously cheering for their parents, brought delightful laughter. Additionally, a new segment was introduced that added interest. It was a time for children to express their feelings, learning to communicate properly in an integrated approach called "promise," where children had the chance to open up their hearts to their parents, looking them in the eye.
Among them, Kim Byung-hyun's son Kim Tae-yoon drew attention by showing his confidence, declaring, "I have a lot to say." As the families shared their minor grievances and reaffirmed their warm family love, Tae-yoon, exuding a unique aura, sat across from Kim Byung-hyun and bluntly said, "Your face smells bad. While you tell me to wash carefully, I hope you also wash properly so you don't smell like that in the future," causing laughter all around. A flustered Kim Byung-hyun defended himself, saying, "I wash every morning and night," but Tae-yoon blocked his rebuttal by stating, "You washed two mornings ago and will wash tonight," ultimately declaring, "It smells weird whenever we kiss," hitting a home run and putting his father Kim Byung-hyun on the spot. In response, Shin Hyun-joon joked to Tae-yoon, "In a few days, Kim Byung-hyun and Uncle Jung-tae are set to have a meal, right? Let's meet not at a restaurant, but at a bathhouse," making everyone burst into laughter.
Meanwhile, Lee Ha-jung's son Jung Si-wook also stood out with his unique presence. As it was his turn, Si-wook said, "I want to raise the chair height to put some pressure on my mom," kicking off a psychological game, and as soon as Lee Ha-jung sat across from him, he unleashed a verbal bomb at lightning speed, reminiscent of Usain Bolt, which elicited laughter. Si-wook stated, "I have more to say, but because of the broadcast time, I will stop here," showcasing impressive knack for knowing when to join and step back, astounding everyone. Observing this, Shin Hyun-joon wrote on a whiteboard, "That's definitely Jung Joon-ho's son," adding more humor.
On this day, the first place was taken by Lee Ji-ae's family. Although Kim Byung-hyun showcased his significantly improved skills and rose to joint first-place contender, he unfortunately stumbled on the last question, "Reading a sentence in 10 seconds," leading to a disappointing defeat. Meanwhile, Kim Byung-hyun hilariously struggled with the phrase "rabbit tunnel," mispronouncing it as "rabbit poop," dragging on the "infinite rabbit poop cycle," providing big laughs until the end.
