The late Kim Sae-ron's last film 'Guitar Man' (directed by Kim Jong-myeon and Lee Seon-jeong) finally meets the world.
'Guitar Man', which will be first unveiled on the 21st through a press and distribution preview and a GV (guest visit), is a music film that portrays the growth and loss of a genius guitarist who sings hope through music. It is attracting significant attention as it is particularly the last work that the late Kim Sae-ron grants.
The film begins with guitarist 'Gi-cheol' (Lee Seon-jeong), who has been living a wandering life amid poverty and harsh realities, joining the band 'Volcano.' There, keyboardist 'Yujin' (Kim Sae-ron) and her colleagues offer warm comfort and gentle touches to Gi-cheol. Slowly, changes begin to enter his life, which was filled with cynicism.
However, the film does not only sing sweet hope. Gi-cheol's story, facing the shadows of the past, maintains tension until the end. What conclusion will Gi-cheol, Yujin, and the members of 'Volcano' arrive at? The play continues to stimulate the audience's curiosity until the end.
Meanwhile, the OST 'A world without pain,' which was pre-released on the 28th of last month, adds authenticity as it is directly written, composed, and sung by the director Lee Seon-jeong, who plays Gi-cheol. Lyrics such as "Life isn't easy" and "I hope you find happiness in a world without pain" resonate deeply with those weary of reality.
Scenes from the film featuring the late Kim Sae-ron's appearance in life are included in the music video, moistening the eyes of fans. Comments like "I hope you find happiness over there" and "I miss such warm acting" continue, expressing longing for the deceased.
Director Lee Seon-jeong expressed, regarding the late Kim Sae-ron, "She was a bright and energetic friend on set. I hoped for a wonderful comeback... Now, I hope she finds happiness in 'a world without pain.'" Additionally, she noted that "All revenue from the OST of 'Guitar Man' will be donated to the Korea Center for Life Respect and Hope."
The film 'Guitar Man,' which captures the last footsteps of the late Kim Sae-ron, is currently conducting funding for a special screening on the crowdfunding platform Tumblbug.
