Actor Jung Yong-joo exhibited a distinctive presence in Director Lee Byung-hun's short-form drama "Author Not Presented."
Jung Yong-joo played the role of a murderer who caused the death of Jami (Han Jun-woo)'s ex-lover in a traffic accident in episodes 3 and 4 of the short-form drama "Author Not Presented," which was released on YouTube on the 5th. He is said to have participated in this project at the suggestion of Director Lee Byung-hun.
"Author Not Presented" is about a poor woman named "Mini," who has never passed an acting audition, and a man named "Jami," who sells egg bread while hiding a blade of revenge, as they meet by chance and exchange true forgiveness and support in a human comic thriller drama. Director Lee Byung-hun personally undertook the script and direction, while composer and pianist Yiruma participated as the music director.
Jung Yong-joo appeared before Jami after being released from prison and instantly changed the atmosphere of the drama. The attitude of the murderer, who showed no signs of guilt, stirred anger in the viewers. Additionally, the portrayal of Jami being repaid and suffering in his imagination provided an intense sense of immersion.
Jung Yong-joo said, "It was an honor to work with Director Lee Byung-hun," and noted, "Despite the short script, the director's unique color was evident, and I couldn't help but admire it. I hope the director's challenge marks the beginning of a new platform era."
Jung Yong-joo, who said he paid the most attention to the character's identity and meaning, expressed regarding the character he played, "Since I had a role in creating tension in the drama, I devoted much attention to ensure that just my appearance could elevate the immersion to its peak" and added, "I interpreted the work with the thought that all the characters in the drama could be 'Author Not Presented.'"
Jung Yong-joo, who left a strong impression even in such a short work, has been broadening his acting spectrum through various works, including "History of Losers," "Motel California," and "Flowers that Bloom at Night."
