"Men of the Harem" is based on the Naver web novel by Alpha Tart and is a court romance fantasy about the empress of the Tarim Empire, Ratil, who brings in male concubines to protect her position as emperor.
The web novel, serialized from March 2020 to June 2023, not only recorded over 21.4 million cumulative downloads but also became a webtoon, gaining immense popularity both domestically and internationally. In particular, there was a great deal of interest from fans in the adaptation into live action.
In this context, news that actress Suzy is considering the role of "Ratil," the lead in "Men of the Harem," has generated excitement.
Meanwhile, the production of "Men of the Harem" is being handled by Studio Dragon, with director Lee Eung-bok, known for directing "Sweet Home 2," "Sweet Home 3," "Mr. Sunshine," and "Goblin," taking the helm.
