Park Bo-young has revealed her preparation process for her first role of four characters since her debut, raising expectations.
The new tvN weekend drama "Our Unwritten Seoul" (written by Lee Kang, directed by Park Shin-woo, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Monster Union and High Ground) will air for the first time on the night of the 24th at 9:20 p.m. It is a romantic coming-of-age drama about twin sisters who, while having different appearances, swap lives through a lie in search of true love and life.
The transformation of Park Bo-young, who is taking on the challenge of portraying a total of four characters, including Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae, who are twin sisters, and Yoo Mi-ji pretending to be Yoo Mi-rae and Yoo Mi-rae pretending to be Yoo Mi-ji, is much anticipated. Park Bo-young also recalled the moment she first saw the script, saying, "I felt that the story of the two sisters, Mi-ji and Mi-rae, was special and that perhaps it would be an opportunity that might not come twice in my acting life."
In particular, Park Bo-young noted that the line in which Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae make a secret promise, "I'll live as you, and you'll live as me," resonated with her. "I was curious about how the following story would unfold. I liked the part where the characters grow while facing their own pains and deficiencies," she expressed her affection for the characters. She continued, "I believe that writer Lee Kang's script has the power to move people's hearts. I was strongly drawn to that aspect," making anticipation for "Our Unwritten Seoul" intensify.
Along with this, she highlighted the charm points of the twin characters Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae, who have identical faces but opposite personalities and lives, revealing a special attachment. "Although both Mi-ji and Mi-rae share the commonality of hiding their deficiencies or shortcomings, Mi-ji has the charm of being able to genuinely connect with those around her and eventually open their hearts. Mi-rae excels in her position while steadily and diligently progressing," she shared.
To differentiate between the seemingly similar yet different two characters, she explained, "Mi-ji is somewhat playful, but Mi-rae is calm, which is the most apparent difference. While they pretend to be each other, there's also a setting where one friend can't quite keep up with the other, and we developed this in conversation with the director," indicating that the meeting with the characters of Yoo Mi-ji and Yoo Mi-rae will be completed with Park Bo-young's meticulous performance.
Finally, Park Bo-young said, "Please pay attention to whether I am Mi-rae or Mi-ji today," presenting a special riddle while adding, "The twin sisters, who thought they knew each other best, want to relieve each other's pain by changing their lives, but they should also observe how they grow while confronting their own pains in the mirror." This spurred interest in tuning in live.
The new tvN weekend drama "Our Unwritten Seoul," where viewers can see the ever-changing charm of twin sisters Park Bo-young, will air for the first time on the night of the 24th at 9:20 p.m.
