It has been 2 years since trot singer Haesu became a star in the sky.
The late Haesu was found dead at her accommodation on May 12, 2023. Her real name was Kim Ah-ra. Born in 1993, she ended her short life at the age of 29. At that time, the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul discovered a suicide note believed to have been written by the deceased and handed it over to her family.
The initial anonymous report covered the content that a trot singer who majored in traditional Korean music had died, and fans fervently hoped it wasn't Haesu. However, that wish was not granted. Just hours earlier, Haesu had posted a photo of gifts from fans on her Instagram, but ultimately she left for the heavens.
Especially, on May 9, 2023, three days prior to her death, Haesu communicated with her fans by leaving a message on her fan cafe saying, "Let's fight today too!" Just before her death, she fulfilled her schedule on KBS Busan's 'Morning Show' while receiving enthusiastic support from fans, and she took a thank-you photo.
However, just hours later, she ended her own life, suddenly leaving her loved ones. Haesu's team officially confirmed her death through the fan cafe, stating, "On May 12, Haesu left us to become the light of the vast sea," three days after the report of her death.
The shock and sorrow of those left behind were immeasurable due to such a sudden farewell. Jang Yoon-jung, who had unreservedly shown public support on various broadcasts and stages, expressed her deep sorrow, saying, "I had a painful farewell with Haesu, whom I loved so much," and added, "I cherished you with the heart of a mother bird hoping you would receive love, heal your wounds, and soar beautifully, but I missed you."
He continued with a heartfelt message expressing, "Haesu, why did you do this? I won't scold you, so please come to my dreams just once. I miss you" and urged, "Set up the liquor table ahead of me. When I later arrive in your place, let's have fun without delay!! I love you, Haesu. I won't forget you. May the soul of the deceased rest in peace."
Born in Jeonju, Jeollabuk-do, Haesu realized her dream of becoming a trot singer as a member of the Joo Hyun-mi fan club. She debuted on November 28, 2019, with the mini-album 'My Life, Myself' and briefly appeared as a junior on MBC's 'How Do You Play?' in December 2019 when Yoo Jae-suk was active as his alter ego, Yoo San-seul.
Although Haesu suddenly left this world, she must be singing in a wider sea, and her fans continue to remember her and mourn.
