The late actor Kim Sae-ron's final work 'Guitar Man' (directed by Kim Jong-myeon, Lee Seon-jeong) is set to be released.
As a song of hope in a harsh and difficult world, the film 'Guitar Man,' a final work of the late Kim Sae-ron, who sadly ended her life, will have its first meeting with the audience through a press/distribution preview and a GV on May 21.
'Guitar Man' is a music film depicting the loss, love, and journey of a genius guitarist who seeks hope through music and connections even in a difficult reality. The protagonist 'Gi-cheol (Lee Seon-jeong)' is a genius guitarist living a wandering life without money. Introduced by an acquaintance, 'Gi-cheol (Lee Seon-jeong)' becomes the guitarist for the live club band 'Volcano,' and through camaraderie with the 'Volcano' members including keyboardist 'Yu-jin (Kim Sae-ron),' he seeks hope in the world.
'Guitar Man' is receiving great attention as the tragic story of the late actor Kim Sae-ron, who played 'Yu-jin,' becomes known to the public. Currently, a crowdfunding campaign aiming for a special screening of 'Guitar Man' is underway on Tumblbug.
Gi-cheol is a dropout cast aside who cannot adapt to the rapidly changing world. Having built a solid wall against the world, Gi-cheol pushes away those around him with cynicism and indifference. In contrast, Yu-jin and the members of Volcano always show him sincerity and gradually melt the hard wall of Gi-cheol with warmth and passion. Although the film seems likely to end happily, Gi-cheol is once again thrown into a cold reality due to his past mistakes that keep catching up with him. What the past following Gi-cheol is, and what will happen to the relationship between Gi-cheol, Yu-jin, and the members of Volcano keeps the film taut with tension until the end.
Earlier, the movie 'Guitar Man' released its OST 'A World Without Pain' on April 28, which adds authenticity as the actor who played Gi-cheol and co-director of the film, Lee Seon-jeong, was responsible for writing the lyrics, composing music, and providing vocals. 'A World Without Pain' aims to deliver small comfort and hope to those living difficult realities, containing warm messages such as 'Life is not easy' and 'I hope you are happy in a world without pain.'
Meanwhile, the MV of the OST, featuring clips from the movie, has sparked conversations as it includes appearances by the late actor Kim Sae-ron. Recent revelations about the heartbreaking story of actor Kim Sae-ron and her comforting portrayal of the protagonist, Yu-jin (Kim Sae-ron), overlapped, leading to reactions expressing regret with comments like 'I hope you are happy there, Kim Sae-ron' and 'I miss this lovely image so much.'
Director Lee Seon-jeong, who became close to the late actor Kim Sae-ron while filming 'Guitar Man,' noted, 'Kim Sae-ron brought a lot of bright energy to the film set and was full of passion, so I hoped for a wonderful comeback, but just like the title of the OST, I wish she could be happy in a world without pain.' 'I will donate all the revenue from the 'Guitar Man' OST music profits to the Korea Center for Life Respect and Hope,' she said. The music and MV of 'A World Without Pain' are currently available on various music platforms.
