Actor Jeong Kyung-ho, from 'Oh My Ghost Clients,' personally shared his thoughts about the work and his character.
The new MBC weekend drama 'Oh My Ghost Clients' (planned by Kwon Seong-chang, directed by Lim Soon-rye and Lee Han-jun, written by Kim Bo-tong and Yoo Seung-hee, produced by Broccoli Pictures), which will premiere on the 30th, is a comic fantasy action drama that features the labor problems of a labor consultant who sees ghosts. The fresh profession of 'labor consultant,' as well as the clever setting of ghosts seeking assistance with labor issues, are attracting prospective viewers.
At the center of 'Oh My Ghost Clients' is actor Jeong Kyung-ho, who plays the title role. Known for his solid acting skills and exceptional character portrayal, Jeong Kyung-ho is already recognized as a 'trustworthy actor,' but this project is particularly special. It is his first title role in his acting career. We spoke with Jeong Kyung-ho about why he chose 'Oh My Ghost Clients' and how he prepared for the character.
▲ Why did he decide to appear in 'Oh My Ghost Clients'? "The script is interesting"
'Oh My Ghost Clients' is a collaboration between writer Kim Bo-tong, known for sharply depicting military realities in the OTT drama 'D.P.,' and writer Yoo Seung-hee, who delivered a warm resonance with the film 'I Can Speak.' The drama promises a solid story that balances fun and message. The story of the characters in various labor settings that labor consultant No Mu-jin encounters, along with his humorous and decisive resolutions to labor issues, will unfold in episodic format.
Regarding the reason for his appearance, Jeong Kyung-ho noted, "The script was interesting. The story of a realistic character, a labor consultant, who brings both emotion and laughter was compelling. I thought it would be a work with healthy energy that could relieve the viewers' fatigue."

Having previously portrayed a prison guard, a doctor, and an instructor in succession to great success, Jeong Kyung-ho has earned the title of 'professional actor of specialized professions.' This time, he transforms into a hero labor consultant working for the laborers, raising expectations.
When asked what attracted him to the character of No Mu-jin, Jeong Kyung-ho replied, "I was drawn to the character, who grows both personally and as a labor consultant while fulfilling the grievances of ghosts who met unjust deaths due to industrial accidents." He continued, "I tried to understand the profession itself by meeting and talking with labor consultants directly. Since Mu-jin is not a character who pursues profit, I wanted to reflect that by portraying him with a messy hairdo or in a natural appearance," revealing his struggle to fully immerse himself in the character.
The character setting of No Mu-jin, who sees ghosts and listens to their unfinished stories, also felt special. Jeong Kyung-ho said, "It's my first time collaborating with ghosts," and added, "So, I focused on researching gestures so that the personality of that ghost character could be well expressed in the acting, trying to show a new side each time," raising expectations for Jeong Kyung-ho's diverse performances combining seriousness and comedy.
MBC's new weekend drama 'Oh My Ghost Clients,' which is expected to birth Jeong Kyung-ho's new masterpiece, will premiere at 9:50 p.m. on the 30th.
