The latest news about Sam Hammington's son, William-Bentley, was revealed in 'Studying and Playing.'
On Dec. 12, KBS2's 'Studying and Playing' featured Sam Hammington along with his sons, William and Bentley, as panelists.
Kang Ho-dong introduced Sam Hammington as "the first foreign comedian to win the KBS Grand Award," and Sam Hammington greeted, saying, "I am Sam Hammington, the father of William Bentley. It's nice to meet you," while also noting that he felt "pressure."
In response, Kang Ho-dong asked, "Which part feels burdensome?" Sam Hammington replied, "To be honest, I don't like this setting. It seems like I can't cheat on either side," and added, "I have no knowledge about Korean textbooks. So I want to cheat even a little bit."
Kang Ho-dong said, "In a way, William Bentley is not just a son to Sam Hammington, but a blessing, as he helped him receive the Grand Award," and Sam Hammington agreed, saying, "William Bentley has been the grandson of KBS all this time."
Afterward, footage of William and Bentley from their 'The Return of Superman' days was shown, and Sam Hammington expressed amazement, saying, "I can't believe there was a time like this" as he looked at the children, who are now elementary school students.
Kim Ho-young asked, "Have William and Bentley got Korean names?" to which William replied, "Jeong Tae-o and Jeong Woo-sung." Sam Hammington explained, "My wife has the surname Jeong, so they took her surname."
Hearing this, Kim Byung-hyun remarked, "Aren't you supposed to take your dad's surname? Sam Tae-o," to which Kang Ho-dong pointed out, "I'm sorry, but Sam is the first name," causing laughter. Sam Hammington then teased Kim Byung-hyun, who had lived in the U.S. for 11 years, asking, "How long have you lived in America? Don't you even know that?" which added more laughter.
