"Hi-Five" stars Ra Mi-ran and Ahn Jae-hong shared their chemistry.
On the 12th, a production press conference for the movie "Hi-Five" (Director Kang Hyoung-chul; provided/distributed by NEW; produced by Annapurna Pictures) was held at Lotte Cinema in Konkuk University, Seoul. With Park Kyung-rim as the MC, the event was attended by Director Kang Hyoung-chul, actors Lee Jae-in, Ahn Jae-hong, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Hee-won, Oh Jung-se, and Park Jin-Young.
"Hi-Five" is a comic action drama about five individuals who accidentally gain superpowers through organ transplants, and the story revolves around their encounters with those seeking to exploit their abilities. This new work by Director Kang Hyoung-chul, known for his lively tone and stylish direction in previous films like "Scandal Makers" and "Sunny," has attracted early attention in the film industry due to its unique premise of ordinary people gaining superpowers through organ transplants.
In addition, actors Lee Jae-in, Ahn Jae-hong, Ra Mi-ran, Kim Hee-won, Oh Jung-se, and Park Jin-Young, who possess great acting skills, charm, and presence, came together. Notably, the chemistry between Ahn Jae-hong and Ra Mi-ran, who meet again as colleagues after playing mother and son in the drama "Reply 1988," also drew attention.
On that day, Ahn Jae-hong, who reunited with Ra Mi-ran after portraying Chita in "Reply 1988," said, "I have always dreamed of and waited to reunite with Senior Ra Mi-ran. Just looking at photos of us, I feel like we match well. It was so happy, exciting, and reassuring to share the same scene with Senior Mi-ran."
However, Ra Mi-ran laughed and said, "I completely forgot about it soon after 'Reply 1988.' But they still sometimes call me 'mother.' As an actor, one never knows when or what project we might meet again, so I don't feel like we are mother and son, but rather like peers. Plus, since my character is single and solo in the drama, I hope people can see it that way."
Ra Mi-ran also noted, "Since we meet quite often, it felt very comfortable. It was so seamless that I couldn't tell if we were acting or just having fun together. We shot it in such a fun way that it felt delightful."
