(G)I-DLE is starting a new chapter with 'We are.'
(G)I-DLE (MIYEON, MINNIE, SOYEON, UGI, SHUHA) will release their mini album 'We are,' meaning 'we,' on the 19th, following the 'I' series they have built over the past seven years.
(G)I-DLE made their debut in 2018 with the mini album 'I am.' Starting with 'I am,' which includes 'I' and introduces each member and the team, they gained attention for their rare self-producing as a girl group. Their debut song 'LATATA' became a hit, and they successively established a unique musical worldview with mini albums such as 'I made,' 'I trust,' and 'I burn.'
During this period, (G)I-DLE received public love through conceptual music and performances, including 'LATATA,' 'Han (一),' 'Senorita,' 'Uh-Oh,' 'Oh my god,' 'DUMDi DUMDi,' and 'Hwa (火花).'
For the steadily growing (G)I-DLE, 2022 was a huge turning point. After a year-long preparation, they released their first full album 'I NEVER DIE,' with the title track 'TOMBOY,' and the title track 'Nxde' from mini album 5 'I love,' sweeping domestic music charts and broadcasts to open the 'era of (G)I-DLE.'
Then in 2023, they continued their momentum with the mini album 6 'I feel,' featuring the song 'Queencard,' earning 13 music broadcast trophies and the million-seller title. Their second full album '2,' released the following year, achieved triple hits with the pre-released song 'Wife,' the title track 'Super Lady,' and the track 'I hate being sick,' setting a new record for first-week sales at 1.53 million copies.
In particular, (G)I-DLE solidified their status as a top artist by winning the 'grand award' at the Melon Music Awards, where they received the rookie award in 2018.
(G)I-DLE returns with their mini album 8 after all members re-signed last year. The pre-released track 'Girlfriend,' which they revealed ahead of the album release, features a message to comfort a friend going through a breakup, hinting at another musical world from (G)I-DLE with upbeat sing-along.
Starting from 'I,' (G)I-DLE has built their narrative step by step and has changed their team name from (G)I-DLE to (G)I-DLE, embarking on a new journey. With clear thematic consciousness and diverse sounds, attention is focused on (G)I-DLE's upcoming activities with 'we,' as they continue to rise with each album.
(G)I-DLE's mini album 'We are' will be released on the 19th at 6 p.m. through various music sites.
