BTS recorded the top spot in the boy group brand reputation.
On May 10, the Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute stated that, based on big data analysis of boy group brand reputation for May 2025, BTS ranked first, followed by Seventeen in second place and Big Bang in third.
This ranking is based on the analysis of 57,279,872 boy group brand big data measured from the 10th of last month to this day, which analyzes participation index, media index, communication index, and community index regarding boy group brands. Compared to April's brand big data of 63,170,845, this represents a decrease of 9.33%.
The brand reputation index is an indicator created by finding that consumers' online habits significantly affect brand consumption, through brand big data analysis. The analysis of boy group brand reputation allows for the measurement of positive and negative assessments of boy groups, media interest, and the amount of consumer interest and communication. The data from brand reputation recommendations participated in by consumers is also included with weight.
In the May 2025 boy group brand reputation ranking, the top 30 are BTS, Seventeen, Big Bang, Tours, The Boyz, EXO, SHINee, Super Junior, ENHYPEN, NCT, Stray Kids, BTOB, ZEROBASEONE, ATEEZ, ASTK, INFINITE, Highlight, Boy Next Door, MONSTA X, WANNA ONE, 2PM, Dongbang, RISE, TREASURE, B1A4, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, ONF, FTISLAND, VIXX, PENTAGON.
BTS, ranked first in boy group brand reputation (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, Jungkook), had a participation index of 133,301, media index of 1,432,170, communication index of 2,546,861, and community index of 3,698,776, leading to a brand reputation index of 7,811,108. Compared to April's brand reputation index of 7,617,606, this represents an increase of 2.54%.
In second place, Seventeen (S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, Dokyum, Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, Vernon, Dino) had a participation index of 132,753, media index of 1,021,034, communication index of 1,783,424, and community index of 2,792,048, leading to a brand reputation index of 5,729,258. This represents a decrease of 7.67% compared to April's brand reputation index of 6,205,121.
In third place, Big Bang (G-Dragon, Taeyang, Daesung) had a participation index of 70,966, media index of 717,024, communication index of 931,097, and community index of 1,661,985, leading to a brand reputation index of 3,381,072. This represents a decrease of 0.80% compared to April's brand reputation index of 3,408,197.
In fourth place, Tours (Shin Yu, Dohun, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, Kyungmin) had a participation index of 105,901, media index of 809,862, communication index of 651,974, and community index of 1,567,457, leading to a brand reputation index of 3,135,194. This represents an increase of 85.77% compared to April's brand reputation index of 1,687,676.
In fifth place, The Boyz (Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Jooyeon, Kevin, New, Q, Ju Haknyeon, Sunwoo, Eric) had a participation index of 91,310, media index of 712,987, communication index of 937,290, and community index of 1,077,597, resulting in a brand reputation index of 2,819,185. This is a decrease of 7.53% compared to April's brand reputation index of 3,048,818.
Korean Corporate Reputation Research Institute Director Koo Chang-hwan noted, "According to the big data analysis for boy group brand reputation in May 2025, BTS ranked first. The boy group brand category saw a decrease of 9.33% compared to April's boy group brand big data of 63,170,845. A detailed analysis shows that brand consumption decreased by 12.33%, brand issues decreased by 1.38%, brand communication decreased by 15.02%, and brand dissemination decreased by 9.56%."
He added, "In the link analysis for the top-ranking BTS brand in May 2025, terms like "to prove, to sell out, to sponsor" were noted as high. In the keyword analysis, 'Jin, Jimin, Jungkook' were noted as high. In the positive-negative ratio analysis, a positive ratio of 92.02% was noted. Detailed analysis of BTS's brand reputation shows a decrease of 8.68% in brand consumption, a decrease of 6.31% in brand issues, an increase of 7.43% in brand communication, and an increase of 3.54% in brand dissemination."
