The funeral of 'The Man from Nowhere' broadcaster, the late Lee Sang-yong, has been arranged.
The late Lee Sang-yong's funeral was set up in Room 31 of the Catholic University of Korea Seoul St. Mary's Hospital funeral hall in Seocho-gu, Seoul, on the morning of the 10th. The deceased's funeral is scheduled to be held at 9:40 a.m. on the 12th, and the burial site will be in Yongin City.
The deceased went to a nearby hospital due to a cold the day before, collapsed, and was rushed to Seoul St. Mary's Hospital where he received emergency treatment but sadly passed away. He was 81 years old.
However, the fact that the bereaved family was living in Hong Kong and there were no available funeral halls overlapped, leading to the preparation of the funeral today (the 10th), the day after the death. The bereaved family rushed back upon hearing the news.
Meanwhile, Lee Sang-yong debuted in 1971 as an MC on BS Christian Broadcasting. While hosting the KBS children's song program 'Let's Sing Together' in 1975, he gained fame with the nickname 'The Man from Nowhere.'
In particular, the late Lee Sang-yong served as a host on the MBC military visit program 'Stage of Friendship' starting in 1989. This garnered him widespread recognition as 'The Man from Nowhere,' earning him great love from military personnel and their families.
Additionally, he was also known for his remarkable charitable acts, supporting over 560 children suffering from heart diseases and helping them find new life.
