On the 8th, MBN aired "Exclusive World," depicting singer Jeong Min-chan, who does various jobs to make a living while not giving up on his dreams, and actor Jang Hee-jin, who, at the age of 81, has not given up on her path in acting.
Jeong Min-chan, who emerged three years ago through a competition, caught the public's attention with his unique appearance. He, who was an elite from the National Ballet Company, surprised his parents and thrilled the public when he challenged the path of a singer for trot music.
Jeong Min-chan said, "When I told my parents I would quit the National Ballet Company and become a trot singer, they asked why I was quitting. I liked ballet, so I wanted it to become more popular, and I wanted to sing songs I loved," noting that he gave up the path of an elite to pursue his dreams.
He has currently chosen a life in the mountains as work has somewhat diminished. Jeong Min-chan said, "After competing in a contest three years ago and working hard for about a year, the opportunities dried up. It's a tough situation now," while laughing heartily.
His worries are not only about work but also about family ties. Jeong Min-chan said, "My father was an irresponsible person in the family. He made it hard for my mother. He was irresponsible even after having us. When I was in middle school, my father guaranteed a loan for a friend without consulting my mother, and we lost our APT."
His father had already entered the mountain and was separated from his mother for a decade. He continuously offered apologies to his wife, but her heart showed no signs of softening.
The father said, "I abandoned my business and wandered like a good-for-nothing, living as a bad credit holder for 20 years. I did things I shouldn't have done, which is why my wife gets angry just seeing me. My wife's diagnosis is lupus, and when complications arise, vision goes first, which is the most heartbreaking thing." Jeong Min-chan has been running around for his parents' reconciliation and has supported himself through ballet lessons. He stated, "If I work hard, I believe my mother and father will come together. I will work hard in both trot and ballet," shining with dreams intact.
Jang Hee-jin, the niece of the late Choi Eun-hee, was active as a cultural interpreter. He had studied history to assist in acting and was explaining cultural heritage to people with unique vocal skills and a sharp memory, leveraging his specialty as a court lady actor.
There was a presence that made his eyes brim with tears: the very existence of the late Choi Eun-hee. As the eldest niece in the family, he had a special bond with his aunt and claimed that he started his acting career after her abduction.
Although there was an escape after 8 years, the couple of the late Choi Eun-hee stepped on their homeland after 13 years due to various factors.
