Actor Kim Soo-hyun, who has been accused of having been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron since her adolescence, recently rebutted claims made at a press conference conducted by the Garosero Research Institute (abbreviated Gaseyeon) and filed a lawsuit.
Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, LKB & Partners, stated on the 9th, "We have filed additional complaints against Gaseyeon operator Kim Se-eui for violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (defamation), and against the family of the late Kim Sae-ron for violations of the same act (defamation)."
The day before, Gaseyeon and the family of the late Kim Sae-ron held a press conference and claimed, "Actors Kim Soo-hyun and the late Kim Sae-ron were in a relationship since middle school, and during the winter break of her second year in middle school, they had sexual relations for the first time, and there is an audio recording to back this up. They also claimed that Kim Soo-hyun's side attempted to bribe the informant with 4 billion won for the audio file, and when the informant refused, two killers attempted to murder them."
In response, Kim Soo-hyun's side emphasized, "Kim Se-eui's remarks are a complete lie with not a shred of truth. Kim Se-eui indiscriminately spread absurd falsehoods about actor Kim Soo-hyun based on forged audio files and photos downloaded from the internet," and stated that they had taken additional legal action against them.
Earlier on the 7th, Gaseyeon representative Kim Se-eui held a press conference at a location in Gangnam, Seoul, with the consent of the family of the late Kim Sae-ron alongside the family's legal representative, attorney Bujisuk from Law Firm Buyou.
On that day, Gaseyeon claimed, "On January 10th, Friday, just a month before Kim Sae-ron's death, the informant revealed an audio recording about what kind of relationship she had with Kim Soo-hyun," and unveiled the transcript of the audio between the late Kim Sae-ron and the informant. Gaseyeon noted that they had also confirmed with the family that the audio was indeed Kim Sae-ron's voice.
The woman believed to be Kim Sae-ron in the audio stated, "I really trust and am telling this. Please keep it a secret. I dated Oppa Soo-hyun. I know you might think I'm crazy, but we dated from middle school and broke up after entering college. I was used by him since middle school, and I know how he treated me back then."
Additionally, she stated, "People who are gold medalists are truly scary and they do anything, so you really have to keep this safe. I feel like I was used since middle school, and I think about how he treated me back then. It was during winter break of my second year in middle school that I first became intimate with him. Looking back now, I think I was taken advantage of. Only a few people know about this and they all have the same reaction: they think I'm crazy and wonder why I'm keeping quiet."
In this regard, attorney Bujisuk stated that the family has filed a complaint against Kim Soo-hyun for violations of the Child Welfare Act and false accusations, saying, "The family confirmed that Kim Soo-hyun had engaged in lewd acts or sexual abuse toward the late Kim Sae-ron, who was a minor during her winter break of the second year in middle school, and proceeded to file a complaint for violations of the Child Welfare Act."
The issue didn't end there. Representative Kim Se-eui claimed regarding the audio transcript, "A certain connection to the gold medalist said he would give me 4 billion won. He asked me to hand over the recording in exchange for 4 billion won, and YouTuber Lee Jin-ho also offered 1 billion won for the recording." After refusing this, he claimed to have been attacked, shocking everyone.
In response, on the same day, Kim Soo-hyun's side refuted Gaseyeon's press conference, stating, "The audio file in question is completely forged and the gold medalist believes that the audio file was created using AI or similar means."
Kim Soo-hyun's side stated, "The informant mentioned (by Gaseyeon) sent some of the audio recordings that contain the late Kim Sae-ron's voice while demanding money from the gold medalist. The audio recording has been manipulated to sound like the late Kim Sae-ron, and the gold medalist has not accepted any of the informant's demands," thus countering Gaseyeon's claims about the audio transcript and the proposal of 4 billion won being entirely false.
The agency particularly emphasized that Gaseyeon's claim about the 'attack photo' is a completely unacceptable false claim and logically implausible, stating, "Moreover, the 'attack photo' that Gaseyeon disclosed can be confirmed immediately through an internet search, and the photos that Gaseyeon and the informant provided were claimed to be 'attack photos' downloaded from the internet."
