Kian84 declared farewell to "TaeGyeIlJu" after the season 4 "ChamaGodo" episode.
On the 8th, a production presentation for the new entertainment program "Born to Travel the World 4" (hereinafter "TaeGyeIlJu 4") was held at Sangam MBC in Mapo-gu, Seoul. It was hosted by Lee Seung-hoon of Winner, and Kian84, Pani Bottle, and Lee Si-eon participated in the discussion with Producer Kim Ji-woo and Park Dong-bin.
"TaeGyeIlJu 4," which started with season 1 in 2022 and produced up to season 4 in 3 years, is a program where Kian84, a man born to live, embarks on a great journey on the "ChamaGodo," the highest and most rugged mountain path in the world, and is set to air for the first time on the 11th. Along with Kian84, Pani Bottle, Lee Si-eon, and Dex will journey to find ethnic minorities for whom "ChamaGodo" is their homeland, crossing the massive ridges of the Himalayas. A mysterious journey where every step becomes a story is expected to unfold.
However, Kian84 emphasized several times that this season is the last season of "TaeGyeIlJu," and also mentioned at the production presentation, "We achieved the beauty of a successful conclusion." He explained, "To say why this season was tough, after going to 'TaeGyeIlJu,' I end up bedridden for half a month. Has it been a month this time? I'm only feeling better now. I was continuously receiving IV fluids, and my health was really poor."
He continued, "So, personally, it felt like the hardest entertainment experience, and I talked to the producer about this being the last one. Even when I was doing webtoons, I didn't feel like I achieved a successful conclusion, but this time, I feel proud to have done so, so I'm not sure. I think it's better to leave when the applause is still ringing. There were moments when I felt choked up, and I think that was the case."
In response, Producer Kim Ji-woo remarked, "The fact that this is the last season is something we also mentioned during season 2. We claimed it was truly the end during season 3, too, but we left this time as if we would not return, and there was a bit of that sentiment. We left with a feeling of a last dance," and added, "While there's a sense of finality, there was someone who suggested after we returned and held our first meeting, 'Let's not do this, let's keep leaving,' so I will discuss it well with everyone."
Kian84 shared his thoughts on why he believes he achieved a successful conclusion this season, saying, "With the members and the production team so far, I think we've tried all the ideas we could. That's why I consider it a successful conclusion. When this ends, there's a point where I think it would be fun to tell such stories in a webtoon, but now I can't think of anything in particular. I traveled without reservation, went everywhere without holding back, and I think the viewers would understand if it seemed forced, so I feel it was a successful conclusion."
However, Kian84 has not completely closed the door on the possibility of a next season. Tasting success with 'KianJang,' he said, "Actually, after we return, I discuss with the producer. 'It would be really fun if we went to North Korea,' 'How much was the trip to the moon?' we talk about things like that. Realistically, I don't see anything tangible yet. It would keep the viewers expecting, and I'd be looking forward to it, too. If there's a travel destination like that, wouldn't I want to set off again?"
In contrast to Kian84's serious declaration of a last dance, other cast members have repeatedly mentioned the next season. First, Lee Si-eon revealed, "I haven't wanted to go anywhere at all during the seasons. I was thinking of it lightly as going with friends, but if I had the chance, I would like to visit a white winter country."
Additionally, Pani Bottle expressed fear when asked about Dex's performance, saying, "This season, I chose only funny things to say, and I also tried to be funny all this time, but this time, since Dex handled everything like an all-rounder, I'm wondering what else I can do here other than book accommodations. It feels like my position is getting diminished." He added, "Dex isn't not doing it because he can't book hotels. If the next season comes, please let me handle hotel bookings and calculations."
Meanwhile, MBC's "Born to Travel the World 4" will air for the first time on the 11th and will broadcast every Sunday night at 9:10 p.m.
