On the 7th, singer Lee Seung-gi, who released his new song 'Sorting,' appeared as a guest on MBC FM4U 'Kim Ina's Starry Night' and brought up discussions about variety shows.
That day, Lee Seung-gi surprised those around him by passionately singing 'Rewind' and 'Emergency Room' at the request of the listeners. Kim Ina said, "For today, I'll treat you as an older brother" and "When you hear it from the front, it resonates. It feels like getting a massage. When classical singers sing, it's felt like this on the skin."
Kim Ina expressed regret that Lee Seung-gi had not been able to engage more in his singing activities compared to variety shows. Lee Seung-gi noted, "The hardest part about doing variety, acting, and singing all at once was that variety and singing are the most oppositional of oppositions. Most of what I did involved physical work and sleeping in the worst conditions, shouting loudly, and doing everything a singer shouldn't do. While doing that, I wasn't able to focus much on singing. Now, I want to try to work hard at it."
Lee Seung-gi picked 'Boy, Walking the Path' from his songs. This song was created in collaboration with Nell's Kim Jong-wan. Lee Seung-gi said about Kim Jong-wan, "I visited him often. We did not have a close relationship. He is very reclusive. When he gets into something, there were times when I couldn't reach him. I expressed that I hoped we could work together for about a year. He really joined me as if he were unable to refuse."
Lee Seung-gi said, "I really like the artist musician Kim Jong-wan. He writes music with only sincerity. He doesn't feel like a merchant. I was so happy to be connected with him." Lee Seung-gi added, "The song lyrics were written after discussing with Hyung Jong-wan, incorporating my story into the lyrics."
Lee Seung-gi reflected, "I feel like if I sing this song again now, I might sing it better. I think I now understand why Hyung created this song." He reminisced, "At that time, I felt pressured to quickly make the album under time constraints."
Lee Seung-gi chose the song 'Love' composed by Kwon Soon-kwan. He remarked, "Even if I don't have a personal relationship, I just know the contact information and visit. I tell them I'm a huge fan and that I want to receive a song." Additionally, Lee Seung-gi mentioned, "I love listening to this kind of song. Being a high note lover, I tend to listen to more comfortable songs than high-pitched ones."
For the next song, Lee Seung-gi selected 'All the Time We Spent Together.' He said, "This is a song written by Korea's best lyricist Kim Ina. It is a song I asked him to write lyrics that could resonate a bit more with the fans."
Kim Ina shared the background behind writing the lyrics, saying, "Lee Seung-gi is the type who doesn't really speak weak words." She added, "When I mention I'm having a hard time, he doesn't talk about it because he worries that those who love him will be heartbroken."
Kim Ina said, "This is a song where I wrote down what I felt about Lee Seung-gi, hoping that the relationship with fans would last long."
