A new history of auditions, "Veiled Musician," is expanding into a global project in partnership with SBS.
The first audition to select the best solely based on voice, "Veiled Musician" Season 3, has secured production with SBS Prism Studio and is officially setting sail. It is enhancing its global project by establishing an official partnership with Spotify.
Season 3, aptly titled "Global Project," will unfold across 12 Asian countries, including Korea, Japan, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Mongolia, Cambodia, Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, and Laos, seeking hidden vocal talents. The first large-scale music audition in Asia will be held under the name "Veiled Musician."
Once the national winners are selected, an "Asian Grand Final" will be held. The top three from each country will gather in Korea to determine the best vocalist in Asia. A fierce competition is expected on this global stage, resembling a national contest, with talented individuals from 12 Asian countries competing with a passionate dedication to music.
This large-scale global audition will be conducted under the direction of Kim Yong-jae, head of the Global Business Center at SBS Prism Studio. Kim noted, "It is significant that 12 countries are participating simultaneously in the same format and being broadcast by major broadcasters in each country. This is the first sign of a shift in the music exchange from the West to the Tongyang, and it shows that SBS is at the center of this global project."
"Veiled Musician" is the first audition that conceals faces, ages, regions, and educational backgrounds, allowing contestants to sing behind the scenes and compete solely on voice and musicality. It has been evaluated as music that is heard rather than shown, making it the most fair music audition. Expanded into a global project, Season 3 is set to be released in the latter half of this year.
