A Japanese woman who unexpectedly kissed Jin, a member of the group BTS, has been handed over to prosecutors.
On the 8th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul transferred the woman, identified as A, in her 50s, to the prosecution on charges of sexual assault in a public place under the Sexual Violence Punishment Act. A is reported to have entered the country recently and voluntarily appeared before the police.
Previously, Jin met with fans directly for the first time after his discharge at the '2024 FESTA' held in the Songpa area of Seoul on June 14 last year. Jin was discharged just the day before, and he made an appearance for the fans who had waited during his military service.
In particular, Jin proposed the idea of a hug event and held a special event where he hugged 1,000 fans. During this event, A attended and suddenly kissed Jin on the cheek while hugging him.
Jin was seen with a perplexed and bewildered expression, leading to criticism of A's actions. Fans ultimately filed a complaint requesting an investigation into A for violation of the Sexual Violence Punishment Act, and the Songpa Police Station recorded A as a suspect and requested her appearance, but it was expected that the investigation would take a significant amount of time, leading to a decision to suspend the investigation in March.
According to police investigation rules, if a suspect is outside the country for more than two months and investigation becomes impossible, the investigation may be suspended. A woman, identified as B, who is suspected of unexpectedly kissing Jin in a similar manner, remains on hold because her whereabouts are unknown.
Meanwhile, Jin will hold his first solo fan concert '#RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR' at the Goyang Gymnasium auxiliary stadium in Ilsan, Goyang, on June 28-29. This tour will consist of a total of 18 performances across Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and other locations.
