Blackpink member Lisa drew attention at the Met Gala with bold pantsless fashion that featured the face of a human rights activist on her underwear.
Lisa attended the '2025 Met Gala' held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City on the 6th.
The theme of the event was 'a reinterpretation of high-end tailored suits in black style.' It seemed that Lisa showcased a mysterious fashion with a long coat that wrapped around her entire body.
However, a twist unfolded on the red carpet. Lisa was wearing only a black lace bodysuit under the long coat, paired with black stockings. This was a case of missing bottoms, known as 'pantsless fashion.'
Lisa is currently the global ambassador for the luxury brand L. Her outfit that day was reportedly designed by pop star Pharrell Williams, who is also the creative director of the brand.
As she has been showcasing notably bold fashion during her solo activities, and with celebrities from the same brand like Sabrina Carpenter also presenting 'pantsless' fashion at that day's Met Gala, the brand's key trend appeared to be recognized as 'pantsless.'
However, Lisa's outfit sparked controversy once again. The underwear that was explicitly revealed through the 'pantsless' design featured the face of American human rights activist Rosa Parks.
Rosa Parks is also the figure who ignited the movement to abolish racial discrimination against black people. There was much debate over the design that printed his face on the underwear. However, as Lisa is a brand ambassador, the questions about the intention were directed not at her personal choice but at the brand that designed and provided the outfit.
In response, L explained through U.S. entertainment media, 'The printing of Rosa Parks' face is a work by artist Henry Taylor, portraying individuals he met throughout his life.'
