Choo Young-Woo took the trophy for 'The Tale of Lady Ok' instead of 'The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call.'
At the 61st Baeksang Arts Awards held on the 5th, Choo Young-Woo won the Best New Actor award for 'The Tale of Lady Ok,' defeating Kim Jung-Jin from 'Ito??: Intimate Betrayer,' Song Gun-Hee from 'Seonjeaeobgo Tieu,' Cha Woo-Min from 'Study Group,' and Heo Nam-Jun from 'Your Honor.'
Choo Young-Woo expressed, 'I am so grateful to just be here, and I cannot thank you enough for giving me this award. I only feel a sense of gratitude. Everything I've done until now hasn't been just me. Thank you to my beautiful sister Ji-Yun, and to the other seniors. Thank you to everyone at the company,' extending his gratitude to his colleagues from 'The Tale of Lady Ok.'
He added, 'I love my mom, dad, and Jung-Woo, who are going through a lot of pain. I hope they can smile when they see this. My acting teacher told me to be a person who wears out rather than a star who rusts and disappears. I will work even harder.'
The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards with Gucci, held on the 5th at 8 p.m. at COEX Hall D in Gangnam, Seoul, is the only comprehensive arts awards ceremony in the country that encompasses broadcasting, film, and theater.
