Actress Shin Hyun-bin made a special appearance in the 'Resident Playbook.'
In the episode broadcast on 4th, the character Jang Gyeo-ul (played by Shin Hyun-bin) appeared as Um Jae-il's (played by Kang Yoo-seok) first love in the tvN weekend drama 'Resident Playbook' (created by Shin Won-ho and Lee Woo-jung, directed by Lee Min-soo, written by Kim Song-hee, produced by CJ ENM Studios, and Egg is Coming).
On that day, Um Jae-il was unusually focused on his appearance, which puzzled his colleagues. Jae-il noted, "Someone said they would treat me to a meal. My first love, my high school tutor. I went to medical school because of that teacher."
Hearing this, Oh Yi-young (played by Go Youn-jung) asked, "A doctor? Someone from our hospital?" Um Jae-il replied, "No, it would have been great if that were the case. I confessed back then, right? When I got to college, I was told there would be many people like you, but there aren't any, people like that."
Um Jae-il said, "An incredible person? The way they speak and their expressions are cold and blunt. But when they smile, they are really cheerful. Their favorite thing in the world is studying and spicy tteokbokki. Isn't that super cute?" Oh Yi-young and Pyun Nam-kyung thought of Kim Sa-bi (played by Han Ye-ji).
In response, Um Jae-il expressed disbelief, saying, "That person is in a different league." The person he met in the lobby was Jang Gyeo-ul (played by Shin Hyun-bin). When Um Jae-il asked if she came to see him at the hospital, Jang Gyeo-ul replied, "No. I came to meet the professor for my doctoral mid-presentation," and then asked, "How have you been? Is residency okay? Is it tough?"
In particular, when Jang Gyeo-ul heard Um Jae-il call her 'noona,' she emphasized, "Teacher. Not noona, teacher," and continued, "It feels like just yesterday you were complaining about your grades, but seeing you in a gown makes you look like a doctor."
Um Jae-il said, "If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have become a doctor," to which Jang Gyeo-ul replied, "If it weren't for your tutoring fees, I wouldn't have graduated," leading to laughter. Um Jae-il showed continued affection for Jang Gyeo-ul and flirted with her, but he became gloomy upon overhearing her speak on the phone with her boyfriend.
Additionally, Jang Gyeo-ul and Ahn Jung-won (played by Yoo Yeon-seok) showcased their affectionate relationship, bringing warmth to the scene. In the 'Hospital Playlist' series, Jang Gyeo-ul expressed her unrequited love for Ahn Jung-won until the two confirmed their feelings for each other. With the two still appearing to be in a romantic relationship, interest in the story of 'Hospital Playlist' Season 3 is also growing.
