JYP Entertainment officially apologized for the controversy related to the operation of its affiliated group DAY6's concert in Jakarta.
On 4th, JYP Entertainment released a statement through DAY6's official social media and noted, "We deeply apologize for causing concern to the fans who cherish DAY6."
Earlier, DAY6 held the third concert of their world tour "Forever Young" on 3rd (local time) at the Madya Stadium in Gelora Bung Karno Sports Complex, Jakarta, Indonesia. Initially, the concert was scheduled to take place at Jakarta International Stadium, but the venue was changed abruptly just before the performance.
Additionally, the heavy rain that fell just before the concert caused delays in both the soundcheck and the actual performance, leading to fans waiting on-site. Ultimately, fans expressed their dissatisfaction with the DAY6 members during the performance, and as the situation was shared on social media, the controversy intensified. Notably, it is reported that the members apologized directly to the audience before starting the concert.
In response, JYP said, "DAY6 held the third concert of their world tour 'Forever Young' in Jakarta on 3rd. In the process of addressing this with the local promoter, there were operational challenges leading to inadequate responses and safety measures in adverse weather conditions, resulting in delays to the soundcheck and the start of the performance."
They further expressed, "We sincerely apologize for causing inconvenience to the fans who waited for a long time in adverse weather and for the artist who did their best with consideration for the fans even under difficult circumstances."
While doing so, the agency stated, "We feel a heavy sense of responsibility regarding this matter," and promised, "In the future, we will strive to ensure that our artists can fully focus on their performances under the best conditions and will diligently oversee the on-site situation to ensure that fans can enjoy the performances without inconvenience."
Finally, the agency conveyed, "We apologize once again for causing concern to all the fans who came to DAY6's concert." [Photo] Provided by JYP Entertainment, OSEN DB
