Broadcaster Park Ji-yoon is also parting ways with her agency amid a divorce lawsuit.
On the 2nd, a media outlet reported that Park Ji-yoon and her manager recently requested to terminate their contract with JDB Entertainment.
Park Ji-yoon announced her exclusive contract with JDB Entertainment in May 2023. At the time, JDB Entertainment said, "We have recently signed an exclusive contract with Park Ji-yoon, a former KBS announcer. We are happy to have formed a good relationship with Park Ji-yoon. Given her natural eloquence and various charms as a professional MC, we expect great things from her in the future. We will fully support entertainer Park Ji-yoon going forward."
JDB Entertainment is home to numerous comedians, including Kim Jun-ho, Kim Dae-hee, Yoo Min-sang, Kim Ji-min, Kim Min-kyung, Hong Yoon-hwa, Kim Min-ki, Shin Gi-ru, Oh Na-mi, and Hong In-kyu.
At that time, Park Ji-yoon signed a contract with JDB Entertainment through her manager, with whom she had a more than ten-year relationship. However, following the recent departure of her manager, it is reported that Park Ji-yoon also requested to terminate her contract.
However, according to reports, Park Ji-yoon has one year remaining on her contract with JDB and since the contract will be concluded by mutual agreement, there will be no penalty fee, but she is expected to return the payment for the remaining year of the contract.
Park Ji-yoon is currently in a divorce lawsuit with her ex-husband Choi Dong-seok. They married in 2009, and Park Ji-yoon, a fellow announcer from the 30th class at KBS, has one son and one daughter, but last October, news of their sudden split shocked many.
The couple submitted a divorce mediation petition to the Jeju District Court, but mediation has broken down, and they are currently in the process of a divorce lawsuit, with both parties additionally filing claims for damages for emotional distress due to infidelity. Park Ji-yoon has custody and parental rights, while Choi Dong-seok utilizes visitation rights to spend time with the children.
Amid this, Park Ji-yoon is set for a fresh start as she concludes her contract with the agency she has been with for two years.
Meanwhile, Park Ji-yoon is expected to continue her activities as the "queen of mystery" by appearing in the Netflix original mystery variety show "Crime Scene Zero," which is scheduled for release this year.
