The spirit of actress Kim Ok-bin in "Jungle Pop 2 - Peru Pop, Caribbean Pop" continued even in the Caribbean Sea.
In the episode aired on Nov. 1 on SBS's entertainment program "Jungle Pop 2 - Peru Pop, Caribbean Pop," Kim Ok-bin and Lee Joon were depicted going on their final hunt in Manohuan. From the first day, Kim Ok-bin swiftly caught crazy fish, showcasing her various underwater certifications and impressing everyone.
Having adapted to diving, Lee Joon caught two lionfish. Those who wanted to ideally catch one lionfish each had to return with a bit of regret.
Just as if to comfort them, a gigantic creature appeared. It was the sea guardian, the humpback whale. As if illustrating the boundary between the blue sky and the blue sea, the two massive creatures swam away, spraying water. In fact, the two were in a mother-and-cub relationship.
Heo Young-ji noted, "Even through video, it looks amazing. I think I would have been really overwhelmed seeing it in person." DinDin expressed, "That picture must have been really beautiful. A mother and baby swimming together," as he admired. Jun Hyun-moo asked, "Did you see it with your own eyes?" and Lee Joon responded, "It was really close, more than I expected."
The dish welcoming back Kim Ok-bin and Lee Joon was the sauce made from oysters and eggplant created by Yoon Nam-no and Ryu Soo-young. Yoon Nam-no revealed, "We often use a lot of beer or carbonated water, and there's a lot of carbonation in beer. It's really easy to replicate at home. Mix one cup of starch, two cups of frying powder, and four cups of beer to make it very crispy."
While waiting for his senior sister and brother, Yoon Nam-no said, "When will sister Ok-bin and brother Lee Joon come? I'd like to give it to them when it's warm." Kim Ok-bin smiled brightly and cheerfully said, "We saw a whale!"
Following that, Yoon Nam-no inspected the lionfish and gauged how to cook it. DinDin remarked, "It looks so impressive, but I've heard it can be poisonous, so I'm really curious about its taste." Ryu Soo-young advised, "You must avoid being stabbed by the spines. Be careful of the spines," after which Yoon Nam-no decided to fry it whole after removing the poisonous spines. Yoon Nam-no commented, "The texture was really good, more than I expected. It was firm yet bouncy," adding, "Then the juices come out and it's delicious, as the collagen from the bones oozes out."
Their seemingly smooth schedule encountered a hiccup. Kim Ok-bin complained of eye pain while heading to Santo Domingo, the hot heart of the Dominican Republic and the birthplace of barbecue, where the Caribbean natives' recipe has spread for 600 years.
Additionally, Kim Ok-bin was shedding tears. She explained, "My mask was cloudy in the water, so I kept using the mask solution, but it seems some got into my eyes," and she informed that although there was no abnormality with her cornea, she needed to rest for a day or two.
In response, Yoon Nam-no expressed, "Kim Ok-bin had altitude sickness in Peru, and now something got into her eye in the Caribbean," showing his concern.
