Everyone was shocked by the dual personality behavior of the third child, Geumjok-i.
On the broadcast of Channel A's 'Recently Parenting - My Precious Child' aired on Feb. 2, the story of 'You must maintain the rank! The unruly five siblings' was revealed.
That day, while the mother went out to do recycling, the third child dragged the younger siblings into the living room and told them to follow him. When the younger siblings did not pay attention, he shouted in a tone similar to that of the eldest sister, who was scolding, 'Look at me! Come here!'
Eventually, the youngest fell and cried. Then the third child hugged the youngest and calmed him down while displaying a 'lend and give' behavior. The third child also hit the fourth sibling, who was two years younger and did not listen to him, and cornered him, putting pressure on him. Ultimately, the fourth child, overwhelmed by the older sister, burst into tears. The youngest, who witnessed this, also cried out of fear.
As a result, the third child forcibly hugged and comforted the siblings. The behavior of Geumjok-i, who made the younger siblings cry one by one and then comforted them, drew the attention of Dr. Oh Eun-young, who paused the video and asked, 'When you are with the fourth and fifth children, you are very strict. They cried because they did not listen to you. And then, when the siblings cried, you suddenly hugged them. What do you think about this?'
Geumjok-i's mother said, 'I think when I leave my seat, I control the younger siblings because I feel like I will get scolded, and I take on the role of a mother.' Dr. Oh Eun-young noted, 'Children originally learn through imitation. However, when children imitate, they mostly follow what looks good. Of course, if they continue to be exposed to bad things, they will unconsciously internalize them.'
In other words, being repeatedly exposed to a violent environment means that even if they dislike it, they will unconsciously learn it. Dr. Oh Eun-young said, 'The older sister sets the rules and they just follow them. There are also cases where they imitate the mother. Comforting the children resembles the mother's behavior.'
The third child expressed concerns that there is no 'self.' Through a drawing test, Dr. Oh Eun-young said, 'I asked Geumjok-i to draw a 'tree,' but he drew a tree floating in the air like a balloon. Typically, the tree trunk and roots represent the self-image, but now he has drawn a tree trunk expressed as thin and frail. He needs to firmly establish the roots of his 'self,' but in that aspect, he seems to be floating and does not know who he is; that's the state he appears to be in.'
