"Weak Hero 2" director Han Joon-hee discussed season 3.
On the 1st, at a cafe in Samcheong-dong, Seoul, an interview was held with Netflix series "Weak Hero Class 2"'s Yoo Soo-min and director Han Joon-hee.
"Weak Hero Class 2" depicts the desperate survival and brilliant coming-of-age story of model student Yeon Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon), who transferred to Eunjang High School with the trauma of having fought against violence for a friend but ultimately being unable to protect them, determined never to lose another friend and face even greater violence.
On that day, director Han Joon-hee, who oversees the planning of "Weak Hero," began by saying about his thoughts on season 3, "It's always like this, but the decision about the next season doesn't seem to be ours. We are the ones making it, and these are precious kids to us."
He continued, "Still, we talk about it while drinking. Now there's no original work. The story that follows is something we try to describe with our imaginative wings. It seems a bit early to solidify it. If viewers love it a lot, who knows what might happen? It seems that director Yoo Soo-min's judgment will be necessary."
Regarding the future series grants of Ahn Soo-ho (Choi Hyun-wook), director Yoo Soo-min said, "I haven't really thought about season 3 specifically yet. But if it happens, wouldn't he appear?" He smiled and added, "Of course, director Han Joon-hee often says, 'Still, the kids should graduate, shouldn't they?'"
Director Han said, "As an action genre, there's 1 and 2, but the actors have mentioned that stories showing school life like a sitcom might also come out." He laughed and added, "Just being able to talk about these stories is a happy moment. I think it's a happy ending. So, I'm grateful."
