Brian supported Hwanhee's challenge to trot.
On the 30th, the MBC entertainment program 'Radio Star' featured Fly to the Sky's Hwanhee and Brian displaying their enduring teamwork and friendship.
Hwanhee shared the reason behind his challenge to trot. Hwanhee said, "I got to participate in the 'King of Singers' program. I have been approached since last summer and had a lot of thoughts about it. I didn't think trot was a genre for me."
Hwanhee said, "After leaving SM and both experiencing financial difficulties, it was in 2005. They brought that article out, saying Hwanhee went on 'King of Singers' due to financial hardships," catching attention.
Hwanhee said, "I came out because of my mother. I have been active for a long time, but my mom says there are no songs she can sing along to," adding, "After much contemplation, we decided to go for it."
Hwanhee said, "The agency invested and provided support; I heard a lot about R&B vocalization, so I practiced even more than before debut." He added, "There were difficulties, but suddenly I gained fans, older sisters, and brothers."
Hwanhee said, "They send me a lot of healthy stuff like red ginseng, honey, and pear juice. Many fans who didn't listen to trot said they started listening once Hwanhee sang it."
In response, Brian noted he received many DMs. Brian said, "I didn't know Hwanhee was doing trot. Later, when I heard the news, I wondered what this was. I saw he was doing well, so I supported him. But fans said, 'Please stop him.'"
Brian said, "If something gives a person happiness in life, I thought, why should I stop him? So I didn't say anything. I told him to do what he wants, so I let it be."
Brian, reflecting on Hwanhee's emotional struggles, wiped his eyes. Brian said, "I hope people can live doing what they want."
