Ri Won, who is appearing in the wave original lesbian dating reality program 'Your Love,' acknowledged her past as a 'BJ' on a broadcasting platform that involves nudity while stating that her sexual orientation is indeed homosexual.
Ri Won revealed this on her social media (SNS) on the 29th. She stated, "I hosted private content broadcasts for about 3 years in total: about 2 years from 2016, approximately 4 months from November 2021 to March 2022, and around 7 months from February to September 2024," adding, "During my broadcasting activities, I had a total of 6 dinner dates, and all meetings were conducted as wholesome mealtime gatherings without physical contact."
Ri Won continued, "I am a woman who loves women," and noted, "I first realized my sexual orientation in middle school, and I also had a serious relationship with a woman for 2 years and 6 months." She further mentioned, "In a desire to deny myself, I have also dated both women and Namsung."
Ri Won claimed that she last dated a Namsung man in August of last year, but he allegedly threatened her with outing, assault, confinement, hacking, and death threats each time she tried to break up. She explained, "In the end, rather than being outed by someone else, I wanted to choose for myself and decided to apply for the program."
Ri Won asserted, "It is a fact without any excuse that I had inappropriate broadcasts in the past and that I met Namsung men before filming," adding, "I believe all traces of past broadcasts have been resolved, and I appear on the program with a selfish desire to now acknowledge being a lesbian."
She continued, "All LGBTQ+ individuals, those involved in the program, and viewers are all victims," stating, "All responsibility lies solely with me. I sincerely apologize."
Earlier, Ri Won's past as a 'BJ' stirred controversy within online communities, with claims that her status as a sexual minority was false. In response, the producers of 'Your Love' stated, "All casting of participants was done through casting directors who matched in sexual orientation and public applications," while also expressing deep regret about not verifying all facts despite conducting three in-depth meetings and apologizing to viewers for any concern caused.
