Actor Kang Ha-neul conveyed his efforts and determination to express the character of a second-generation conglomerate uniquely.
The Genie TV original "Tastefully Yours," which will air its first episode on May 12 (Mon), is a romantic kitchen battle story featuring Han Bum-woo (played by Kang Ha-neul), who becomes a "recipe hunter" by acquiring a small restaurant to inherit a food corporation, and Chef Mo Yeon-joo (played by Go Min-si), who runs a one-table restaurant without a sign in Jeonju.
In the drama, Kang Ha-neul plays Han Bum-woo, a second-generation heir to a food conglomerate with strong self-confidence and materialistic tendencies. Regarding his impressions of appearing in "Tastefully Yours" and his reasons for choosing the project, Kang Ha-neul stated, "It's been a while since I greeted everyone through a drama, and I'm very glad. When I read the script for 'Tastefully Yours,' I found it engaging with a captivating story that I read in one sitting, which led me to decide to participate."
He continued, "While I have seen many characters from conglomerates in existing works, I have made efforts to portray the unique characteristics of Han Bum-woo, which include both a careless side and a strong sense of pride." He further noted, "The script and the character itself are fun and well-structured, and I pondered how viewers might find it more interesting within that context," heightening curiosity about the character of Han Bum-woo.
Additionally, Kang Ha-neul expressed, "If I had to represent the Han Bum-woo character with food, I would choose fernbrake." He explained, "Fernbrake is delicious on its own, but it also adds flavor and taste when included in bibimbap or other dishes. Moreover, if bibimbap represents 'Tastefully Yours,' then the ingredients within it are the actors I performed alongside," introducing the character and the work in a witty manner.
